Fox09 - This Means War!

I am fine with either CoL or MC. No point delaying oracle ... grab either of the two techs and starts the GP points rolling. Get one more work boat for the remaining clams in preparation of the +3 happy with Pyramids. Add Lib and Granary as and when you can slip them in.

Doesn't matter 10 or 15 or 20 ... I am very loose in this regards. I'd rather you stop at a point where a research or build completes, so that the team can discuss what to select next.

Math opens up Hanging gardens and we need that extra 2 health.
Sure ... but that's way behind in line IMHO. Pyramids, library, and forge should be completed first, then when we have time an aqueduct then HG. Slip in the workboats/granary as and when angry citizens appear to be whipped away.

As we all know Oracle is just one turn away. We can't lose it can we.

Well before I get to that, I think about whether to stall Beijing or let it grow. If I grow then I need to whip a forge or library, if I stall I can get Pyramids out quicker. Forge will get Pyramids out quicker as well so decide to grow and 2 whip the forge into Pyramids.

As for the Oracle, scarily the AI thinks as we do.

Metal Casing it is, forge started in capital.

Mathematics was already selected for research so leave it.

Hate to whip without granary but the forge is 2-pop whipped when Beijing grew unhappy.

I pre-chop the grassland hill for after Mathematics comes.

I finish here, played about 20 (doesn't take long does it!).

Forgot to get a screenie but on the last turn Mathematics came in as well as

Assume we're going for representation (employ an engineer then scientist after library?). Haven't changed civics at all.

Library or workboat or granary would be good but again no hammers invested. Actually if we're going representation, granary then workboat then library would let us grow quicker.

Actually after we do all the above, we may have copper on line for quick Colossus build.

As for research, no beakers invested, but I would have thought Sailing (lighthouse = growth) or Code of Laws (religion and on the way to CS).

Remember we can mine the second grass hill at any stage (1 turn left).

Here's the capital. Working the spice for added production and a bit of commerce but may want to change to a 2F1P square for quicker growth.

For what it is worth, I think Sailing next research and granary next build.

Revolt to representation, then research sailing for the lighthouse and then down towards CS. Buildwise, I'd actually go library first. We may even whip it out since we'll get an extra 3 :) from representation. I think the research bonus will help more than an extra pop or two right now.

*** Where's my joke? You obviously played with the correct save so no easy excuse for you!

*** Satisfied, Fox carefully rolled up his whip ***

Oh god, can't believe after waiting 2 and a bit SGs I forgot my joke.

OK here goes. A nun joke as it seems to be the done thing

Spoiler :
Two nuns driving through Transylvania. Suddenly a vampire jumps out in front of their car.

"Oh no", says the first nun. "What do we do?"

"Show him your cross." says the second.

So the first nun winds down the window, leans out and says "Hey, you undead bastard, get the f*ck out of my way."

Lurker Comment:
You GUYS! The Colossus gives a whopping TEN commerce to your city's fat cross. Why risk not getting it, when other wonders and building are so much more useful?

because we don't have copper hooked up yet. We should build the colossus as soon as copper is in though. The library will help speed up the border pop.

I somehow screwed up my screenshots and they were erased in the folder. I did go back to the save to get a final screenie though...wooppie.

Nasty Disgusting Joke
Spoiler :
A girl goes to her father 2 weeks before the prom and asks him to buy her a prom dress. He says " I will if you suck my wang"...she says "No way daddy, thats disgusting, youre my father". She tries to get the dress through other means...borrowing the money and extra babysitting. 2 days before the prom she still still has no dress and is desperate. She goes back to her father and finally agrees to his demands. She starts blowin him and looks up and says "daddy, your wang taste like sh**t".......he says "yea, your brother wanted a bicycle"

1300BC..Preturn
Im sticking with Library vs granary...well grow fast enough anyway. I take a turn of anarchy to swith us into representation.

Turn 114 ...We grow to 7
115...Worker completes grassland hill
116...Library completes
117...sailing in, aesthetics selected to heading towards Globe and Great Library. Thisll get us to Civil service with less turns overall than vice versa. We need that Globe to grow to max.
118...granary completes, worker roads sheep
122...made 2 Workboats...1 for exploring, worker heads to road copper
124...whipped lighthouse
125...started aquaduct
128...slave revolt
131...boat couldnt explore squat, so he is sent to the crabs
135...Aquaduct completes, Hanging Gardens selected
136...Aesthetics in and we get a Great Engineer. We should join him as he will contribute towards military forever.

As for Great Engineer, you're probably right, most GPs will end up being merged, especially with Representation.

Bummer about our isolation, it would have been nice to be able to wipe a civ or two with galleys.

Globe, Great Library and probably Parthenon are on the agenda. Could also look at Colossus (would hate to think Mansu is out there and builds it).

Looking good ... (the game, not the joke!!!). The Globe, IMHO, is not that crucial at the moment. With gems + forge + Rep, our happy cap should be at 10. No real hurry to go past that point prior to bureaucracy. I would run specialists now instead.

Wonders wise, we need to get the TGLs. Both (surprise, surprise!) of them.

@DarthMeanie: Yeah ... 10 coins, provided we work on all water 10 tiles. but chances are we would be working only on 3 for a long time. By the time we are working on all 10, the colossus would be obsoleted. No, the real reason for building it is denial purpose. There are wonders which we don't really need but would be crucial to get for denial. Colossus is one. Great Lighthouse is another. ToA might be necessary as well.

Got it for tonight.
