There is a later scene where they have a train colapsing through a burning testle bridge, before special effects. To film it they had to drop a real train through a real burning bridge, and get it all correct on one take. The movie was mostly down with a recently closed mining railroad.

The whole movie is awesome. Keaton was part genius, part lunatic--it's amazing he survived all the stunts he performed. Like this one:I've watched The General, before. That scene is very awesome.
