I am expressing no opinion as of now and will continue to see what others post and comment upon before making a decision

The poll would at this point support you. The biggest challenge (besides the rules) to such a game is a good map and I have given that some thought already. I'm thinking about a 3000 x 1800 size.

And JS you are not the first to refer to me as BJ even though I do prefer Bird as the diminutive.

I would recommend asking some other NESers, like North King, for help in creating an alternate earth map. He did wonders with the map of the failed NES MjM (I think it was him, didn't even have one update) made a while back. Hell, you could even use it if you wanted, since I don't think anyone ever did.

I do like everything very much but I lean towards "other" due to the fact that 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th century tech is more appealing to me.

I have thought about a Napoleonic Wars NES. It would pretty much be a war game though.

North King is not allowed to make your map until he finishes mine. And there is a secret to that map Swissempire was going to use in his NES that some of you may never find out.

The reason for that would be that there are no penalties for a loss. Perhaps, whenever a dynasty, government etc is defeated or overthrown, that player should be kicked from the NES for a good amount of time. Then, balance of power politics would come into play more.

Carmen, you have no idea what you're talking about. Epoch and Excelsior are on the same map, which has roughly triple the revealed land. Yes, the complete PureNES map makes CPU's stand still with awe. And then crash.

Bird, I like your ideas for a random map fresh start, but I have one request. Multiple cradles!

Oh, and I think Bird would be one of the few able to pull of the era's unworkable by most mods (Cold War, WW2, Napoleon, Roman Empire, modern). Mr. Jaguar's got some untapped magic in him!
