Simple lighthearted thread. I like 'em medium-rare, and can do medium, but med-well and well done are way too done, and I don't like rare because the meat is actually cold in the middle. You? Poll coming.
What can I say, I'm a man of good taste. I tend to order rare in restaurants, since most overcook their steak and I like it rare on the off-chance they get it right. (This of course depends on the restaurant.)
Unfortunately, my family tends to like theirs medium-well, and I do the grilling. By the time I put mine on, our already mediocre grill has lost quite a bit of heat, which means I can never get it charred quite right. Ah well. They always love the ones I feed them, so it seems I've gotten quite good at making bad steak.
This man speaks the truth. It depends on the cut of steak. In general, medium rare.
Rare (Cold red center)
Medium-rare (Warm red center)
Medium (Pink throughout, possibly small amount of red)
Medium well (Some pink in center, mixed with brown)
Well-done (No pink at all)

I also generally do not enjoy my meat to be oozing with blood.
Any steak I've ever ate tasted awful so I voted that I didn't like it.
