Huckabee: Always Look on the Bright Side of Rape!

Now before I say what I came here to say, please understand (and I can back this up wtih quotes in the archived OT) that I happen to think Huckabee is an bug-eyed ET who, had he ever won the Presidency would have taken off his human mask and devoured the press corps. I really am not fond of him.

Anyway, moving on. What he actually said, before being twisted with prefaces and whatnot by the article in the OP link, is not actually bad imho.

One-time presidential candidate Huckabee added: "I used to work for James Robison back in the 1970s, he leads a large Christian organization. He, himself, was the result of a forcible rape. And so I know it happens, and yet even from those horrible, horrible tragedies of rape, which are inexcusable and indefensible, life has come and sometimes, you know, those people are able to do extraordinary things."

well, its not the best thing to say, while your interviewing the legitimate rape guy to give him a soft landing...
 
Well, it must be true... after all, Jesus wasn't born of consensual sex between Mary and God... she never gave permission before getting pregnant (however it really happened). :hmm:
 
Jesus was the result of a non-consensual pregnancy. No surpise that he ended up on death row.

Sir, could you throw down a rope and a bucket, I'd like to bring some chop suey home. This was probably not one of Huckabee's greatest hits. If this is a preview of the interviews and clips that will come out of the convention, we might as well go to the Virginian method to abort this presidency. (Okay, I am just kidding but couldn't help it).
 
Just look what rape did for the Mongol horde, Southern slave owners, and the Japanese in Korea. It has provided a large part of the motivation for conquest and pillage for hundreds of years. Some of Huckabee's own ancestors may very well be the benefactors of being raped.
