I'll take mega implied facepalms for $500
Yeah, not getting to show that you know more than the other guy and having it come down to the luck of whoever's reflexes are faster that day where some serious cash is at stake is totally awesome, guys!
I'll give you a free pass since you have never gotten to play quizbowl.
Better. I can beat Akinator while hardly thinking about it.
Watson won. I have to admit that I chuckled at Ken Jennings' note in his Final Jeopardy response, "I, for one, welcome our new computer overlords."
OMG! He sounds like HAL!

I'm sorry Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.
The guy who came in first human loser wrote "(I welcome our new computer overlords)" underneath his answer to the final jeopardy question.
You know where the name HAL came from, right? Increment each letter...
No. Increment each letter. H->I, A->B, L->MHeuristically programmed ALgorithmic computer.. what is your point?
Although it is often conjectured that the name HAL was based on a one-letter shift from the name IBM, this has been denied by both Clarke and 2001 director Stanley Kubrick.[1] In 2010: Odyssey Two, Clarke speaks through the character of Dr. Chandra (he originally spoke through Dr. Floyd until Chandra was awoken), who characterized this idea as: "tter nonsense! [...] I thought that by now every intelligent person knew that H-A-L is derived from Heuristic ALgorithmic".
The Greisen–Zatsepin–Kuzmin limit (GZK limit) is a theoretical upper limit on the energy of cosmic rays from distant sources.
I'm not saying he's right, I'm saying that that's his point.From Wiki
Or if it was an easy question like "Unit of medication jokingly suggested to help you calm down" It would produce "Xanax"Well that makes it much less impressive. I don't think it comprehends language either, it could do something like this:
Trebek: "This city was founded by dutch colonists and referred to as the big apple."
You can't get your ass sued off for using an arcane naming method to refference an existing name for a character in your book. If it was, DC comics would get sued by the estate of H.P. Lovecraft on a weekly basis. He denies it because he could otherwise get his ass sued off. Everybody knows that's where it really comes from. It was common knowledge when the fim was released.
Clarke and Kubrik deny it because they could otherwise get their asses sued off due to the negative connotations. It was common knowledge that was the true meaning when the film was released.
H - 8th letter
A - 1st letter
L - 12th letter
H + A = 9
L - A = 11
