You know I live in the Baltimore DC area and I still don't know if I can go. Kinda sad isn't it. People are sellig their homes and doing things like that just to come to DC and Baltimore to be at this historical event. Here I live a driving distance away I don't know if there will be any place for me to go to see it! (You need tickets, don't you?)

Regardless, I would LOVE to work something out to meet with fellow CFC members and take part in history. I think it's about time I take advantage of the location.

I am still gonna have to be a maybe for 8 PM on the 19th. Is there any desire to go a little earlier, like say 6 or 7 PM?

For those of you who are directionally challenged, here is an annotated image of the area:

Is there any scope left for this at all? I was kinda looking forward to meeting up with people, but if nobody's going to be there I won't go into the city at all. :(

I'm inclined to agree with bagel. I tried this once before for opening day for NFL training camp with some members on the message board I'm an active member of for Football discussions, and nobody could find each other, otherwise they just didn't show up where they were supposed to.

It will be extremely hard to meet up with every one unless you did it at a location prior to getting into the city (like the light rail station or something).

Dude, meetups aren't hard to orchestrate. CFC has done plenty before. This time it just seems like people aren't interested.

It's definitely worth going downtown for this. I used to be against that idea, but after today's concert I would be more than willing to go to the Inaguration.

I just did a little online research and it appears that you do need a ticket to get onto the national mall. Tickets are free and are only recieved from your congressmen or senator. There is also a much greater demand than there is tickets available. Saw a report that Ben Carden said he recieved 55,000 requests but only had 400 tickets. So they did a lottery draft to see who gets 'em, and by now those tickets are gone.

I can fill you with false hopes, and say I will come.

I will come.

 Them Brits are WAY better at it than we Americans. I don't think attendance to any of ours has exceeded four.

I will come.

Are you trying to mock someone? :mischief:

Well, I cannot come because something came up. Maybe it was too impromptu for CFC...

Well I can't come. I'm pretty much barred from driving my car in the snow we're about to get because my tires are down to the wear bars. I really need to change them, but the tire place doesn't have a time slot open until 8AM tomorrow morning. :( If it were just cold, I'd be fine, but wunderground.com says 80% chance of snow, and if the road gets even remotely slippery, I'm quite simply done for.

You guys can still do it if you want, obviously. We should try this again, but sometime in the Spring.
