With extra special thanks to Chukchi for the santa hat, I present my new avatar for my new username!

It was Ziggy's brainchild as he felt "bhsup" reminded him of "Bishop" from aliens.

I went back to my first *good* custom avatar. I don't think I'll ever pull out the 'Butters in Planet Express gun turret' avatar ever again.

Why don't you change your name to Bishop?

Because that wouldn't be my first initial, second initial, first three letters of my last name...

time for HUEY NEWTON WITH A SANTA CAP

Well from now on I am calling you bishop, since it is easer to remember.

The insistences of out of staters mean nothing. YOU HEAR ME, NOTHING! Unless... well, I did provid you with an alternative avatar. Its use could persuade me, or at least get me to reconsider...

*wink wink nudge nudge*

Hmm... I'm actually considering this deal, depending on the time frame.

Is Olentzero a brand new zero-calorie artificial sweetener?

LOL
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

No, it is not zero-calorie, it is supposed to be a good-nature, fat old man.
But I think we can consider as artificial sweetener.
He was a charcoal burner that as the current tradition carries presents for good kids and coal for bad ones.
Although there are some references in XVI century's literature it did not became this Santa-like "artificial sweetener" until the early 1950's. I remember having read somewhere, that before this rebranding in some villages the tradition says that people should burn a big log in the smokestack, this action would avoid Olentzero from making disspaear the house's kids. If the log remained burning all night long, that would mean a lucky year for the family.

In any case it seems that the current Olentzero is a artificial creation that replaces the idea of Santa or the Spanish 3 wise men. This fact is enhanced by the idea that in the first appearances of Olentzero in Basque literature are refering to a season, not to a person. So this Olentzero blowing kids away would be a representation of hard times in which people died because of famine or similar.

Okay, so a few weeks ago I brought up the idea of changing my avatar, which is something I haven't really done in the past three and a half years. It's kinda sorta not really ish a big deal, I guess? But since my current silly yuri shipvatar has become...well, even less sensical than it was originally...I mooted a change to another yuri ship, Lara x Sam from the most recent Tomb Raider game.

Since I often throw these things out to the body politic, what do you guys think? If I were to make such a change, which one of these avatars would be better?

Those are from screenshots in the game, but I'm willing to use fanart too (or other screenshots) if people feel strongly about them.

alternatively, nobody could say anything and I'd just choose it myself but I think that's much less fun

I thought the photo on the right was real for a sec, so that might be fun to go with.

Or if you really want it to look like a game, go with the one on the left.

The one on the left needs more contrast, but the one on the right is not really recognisable.
