I joined the forums when I was playing Civ 3 (though.. maybe it was CTP..). When I play Civ I like naval builds, fast large fleets of auquatic artillery clearing the path for small packs of ground troops in water heavy maps, and following around my big ungainly aircraft carriers was a pack of Destroyers. I liked them more than the Aircraft carriers since they were basicaslly exactly the fast, floating artillery I was looking for.

So I picked the cool looking Destroyer avatar, with the big gun pointing forwards, so watch out! Now I've had it for a while, and it just looks like my avatar is supposed to.

Needs moar rendering, though.

There's nothing OG about extra rendering. Besides which I enjoyed Civ 3 more than I enjoyed any Civ game before or since. I'm not trying to say it was better than AC or CTP or the earlier ones I didn't play seriously, or even better than post-expansion Civ 4 which again i didn't play. But I didn't mod Civ 4, my Civ 3 years was when i was most involved with this community just because of how life was arranged and so I'm not even saying the modding experience was the best, it was just the one I had when I had that much time on my hands and Civilization was a comfort to me.

Let alone this fantastic community, I did so much crazy, simple writing here and did so much basic work to develop my style, I probably wouldn't have ended up as psychologically stable as I (questionably) am without the support and direction I found during my time playing Civ 3 and hanging out on these forums in high school. I'ma stick with this destroyer as a token of that.
