Prince Abdul III ruled over a small tribe of Kurds in northern Iraq. His father, Abdul II, had been a strong leader and had helped his people survive against the murderous Iraqi Caliph Mahmoud. He had in fact made a military alliance with the powerful yet mysterious Persian Shahdom. But now, his father was dead and the Caliph was taking advantage of the situation by invading Kurdistan. Abdul needed help, but he knew not where to turn. To the Byzantines? No, the Christian Byzantines would never help a Muslim. He had one option: Persia. Yet he himself had never met a Persian, but he knew their land was eastward. He organized a trip to Persepolis to seek help from the shadowy Shah. But things do not go as planned. The night before the trip, the Caliph struck, his archers raining hell upon the innocent Kurds. The Kurdish tribe, including women and children, soon fled their homes and together with Abdul rode to Persia. At the border, they were stopped by the Persian Guard. Luckily, a passing Immortal, whose rank was superior to any borderguard, heard their story and offered to escort them to the Capital. Under his guidance, Abdul arrived in Persepolis, the Glass City. It is known as the glass city not because of its windows, but because there is much sand and the sun is unbearably hot, reminiscent of glass creation. Because of this, massive underground structures exist under Persepolis, including the Royal Palace. Abdul descended into the bowels of the Earth and met the Shah himself. The Shah agreed to assist his young friend, and soon, Persia would invade Iraq.
