ITNES I - An Epoch of Change

Nortugal
to Dukunnugeya:
Strange people from this strange seas. Is this the end of the world? If we continue from here will we fall? Or are there other kingdoms ahead? Is this the so called South edge of the World? End of Africa?

Other than this philosophical questions we are here to open trade and prosperity. And would like to ask you if the Dukunnugeya kingdom is interested in a NAP?

to Gaul:
Fine than. Than please ask your brothers to cease threats upon us. You have influence over them, mostly religious. Our interest in the North sea have ended a long time ago, now we search for peace. But this search for peace is hard when the ruling kingdoms of the area wish to destroy us... So answer us this, does Sol wish for Nortugal burned?

From Wenedia
To Nortugal

We would appreciate such agreements. Your traders are welcome to our ports.

From Wenedia
Nadruvia

Our nation very much needs your help. We thank you greatly for the offer.

to: Hong Kee
From: Nihon
We wish to discuss with you the issue of expansion into the new world. So we can solve future conflicts.

TO: Nortugal
FROM: The Empire of Gaul

We do not wish for Nortugal burned - we have no love for your people, it is true, but we do not want war. Your attacks on our ships, however, are outrageous.

TO: Wenedia
FROM: The Empire of Gaul

We may be fighting Carthage, but do know that once the armies of the Punic menace have been cast away, we shall march and liberate the children of the Sun should the Wenedians desire to march any further west.

TO: Jutland
FROM: The Empire of Gaul

We extend to our brothers an offer of alliance. May you prosper under the enlightened blessing of Sol.

To Nihon
From Huancac

We have met your explorers upon the seas
And would have relations if you please:
Peace and trade of exotic goods
Unlike those of local neighborhoods.
You buy from us and we from you
Like all the friendly nations do.

From DIE
To Nortugal:
We were under the impression that you were in war with Gaul? If that is the case, then your ships are not welcome into the Mediterranean until you've turned away from the dark side.

ooc: Why I can't?

to DIE:
Our naval attack on Gaul was only due to their Solist puppets (as we seem them) threats upon Nortugal. If you would have few people and lived on an island, and had an enemy with a large navy threating you, would you not do the same?

OOC: It's a long way to the Sile,
It's a long way to go.
It's a long way to the Sile
To the reddest sea I know! [...]

uh das, is this basically them moving even further away from me? But still within my sphere of control?

Yes. The most important actual concession would be to take away your powers to change that situation legally.

The city and it's buildings was supposed to be left standing.

Your troops got carried away. ;)

Did Huancac agents make contact with Carthage as I directed?

Actually, no - there are no Carthaginian ambassadors in Olmecia, after all. But you did contact the Phoenicean merchants there, and the Nihonese contacted you.

1. What happened to my colony expedition in South Africa?

The colony is in place.

2. What happened to my alliance proposal to Khoisan? Wouldn't it have been taken to the strongest warlord instead since Khoisan crumbled?

They haven't accepted it. They might change their minds now. ;)

3. Are any of the Khoisan remnants pro-Ayavartan at any level?

None, well, no major ones. But a pragmatic alliance is possible.

4. Did you forget to place my armies in Africa and Arabia?

No, why?

5. How big an impact is religion in Ayavarta on a scale of 1-10, 10 being a high level?

8, possibly 9.

das, what do you picture my UU being like?

I perceive it as flexible (capable of fighting mounted (on horse- or camelback) or dismounted) medium troops.

why did I fight with the Norge? I asked not to attack navies that are not Solist... Did they attacked me?

You attacked them last turn (back then you didn't really discriminate and attacked all trade and fleets in the North Sea). Now they struck back.

From DIE
To Nortugal:
Gibraltar is closed from all enemy ships, both civilian and military. If you want to trade with ANY Mediterranean nations, we suggest you sign peace with Gauls.

Nortugal
to DIE:
Well.. that depends on Gaul now...

to Gaul:
Would Gaul be interested in a deal like we made with Caledonia? We shall cease blocking Gaulish trade routes and will leave you alone with your Sol and in return you shall leave us with our Atheism? And if you would like we could open trade. As said, our aims in our attacks were only defensive (otherwise we would have landed with Carthage there...) and we look only for peace and trade in the end.
Money!

Nation Background: The primitive Mande have always been well-situated for trade - even moreso in recent times, as Carthage rose to the north and the Kwa city-states appeared to the south. Trans-Saharan trade made the Ougadougo urich, as did the new Senegal trade route, and the new trader elite, further encouraged by word of Carthaginian unity and Punic influences, had teamed up with local chieftains to create the Ougadougou trade empire, backed by military force of the key tribes. It is a very primitive, weak state - but it might be the beginning of a great civilization.

I will take them Ougadougou Empire. Its spelled wrong on the first page. How far are we from early Medival Age?

@das, hmm...I don not see the colony in South Africa, I see the one in Namibia though. I'll look closer.
You placed the armies...but they are on boats. Like, a 45 army is on the coastline on boats I think, next to my African colonies.

The Phoeniceans continued their hyperactive diplomatic dealings, signing a trade agreement with Dukunnugeya and, as already mentioned, seeking one in Olmecia (no final reply there yet).
Disenfrancised said:
...I don't remember agreeing to any trade pact with Phoenica in my orders. Not that I wouldn't have of course, but tossi only contact me fater my orders were sent, still somewhat worrying ;).

Haha. Olmecia on the other hand, did sign the agreement. (atleast thats how I understood Kal'thzar) Worrying indeed ;).

Interesting update. Didn't see that comming.
