LK15 - India, to the end

Pre-turn
We have a ton of silks, what can I do with them?
Silks to Japan - Free Artistry out of the way.
Silks to Babs - Get there treasuary ($140), and $5/turn
Thats it, most of the world is to broke.
Next to Research - refining.
Hillville can do shakespeare in 9 turns, why not?

1505 AD - Cowtown has 12 extra food! After mining 3 squares, still 6 extra.
Mine Hillville down to 4 extra food.
Irragate WinterWonderLand to growth past 5.
Hmmm... Getting the idea what type of turns?
Battlefield medicine is ordered.
1510 AD - Japan and Germany - MPP.
1530 AD - Begin research on Combustion. We have 3 oil connected.
1535 AD - Well I knew it would happen, Japan declares war.
Real clever more, since most WE were already upgraded to Calvary.
War with Germany is coming also.
1540 AD - Ouch, I didn't know Babylon also had an MPP with Japan :(
Matsuyama falls, Shimonoseki falls.
Shakespeare's Theater is completed.
1545 AD - Sapporo falls, costing a calvary.
Maysuymaa rushed settler used to clear out the city.
This avoids the permanent hatred for razing a city.
1555 AD - We lose, then gain a coal source :crazyeye:
England / China - MPP.
I **HATE** giving away tech for Luxuries, but I give England ScienMethod for spices.
Can't afford luxury lost during war time. Of course, for just an extra $25 I including England giving up espionage - Intellegence agency is being built.
Mass production is ordered.

Summary -
I just started a couple of ships - The next player can decide if it is worth bring the war to the other continent.

Up next - charliehoke

I played my turns and uploaded the file - I'ts named LK15_1.zip.

I'll post the summary in the morning!

We are at War with China - take Kaifeng on OUR continent -
this is a 2nd source of coal - with the resource expiration, a backup supply is always good.

Here we go:

Pre-Turn – Not much to do, other than changing some coastal towns to build ships – We are definitely going to need them.

Turn 1 – 1565 – A bunch of Babylonian Knights and Cavalry land on our Northern Island! I quickly rush more infantry up there – I think we can hold them off. Battlefield Medicine completed! Note to the next ruler – I am moving all our forces to the city of Twin Peaks. This will be our staging area for any invasion, and since we are railroaded up we can just move units to wherever they are needed.

Turn 2 – 1570 – The Babylonian invaders kill a few of our workers on the island, and a Knight suicides itself on our infantry. A transport is completed and loaded up with units to go repel the invasion. I am concentrating our workers around the cities near the Forbidden Palace to maximize output.

Turn 3 – 1575 – More Bab unit die at the hands of our infantry on Horse Island. The Japanese have begun bombarding some of our improvements with ironclads… nothing major though. Mass Production coming next turn, and I turn down science to get 413 gold on top of it.

Turn 4 – 1580 – Motorized Transport dialed up – Tanks coming soon! Boats top priority, then tanks. The English city of Cambridge flips to us! Joy! The invaders on our island have been completely destroyed. I also get peace from the Japanese.

Turn 5 – 1585 – Intelligence Agency completed! War weariness starting to get us… We might consider a government change – I would vote for monarchy, but that’s just because I hate Communism…

Turn 6 – 1590 – Our destroyer sinks a Babylonian Galleon.

Turn 7 – 1595 – Motorized Transport + 577 gold next turn

Turn 8 – 1600 – Dialing up Flight next. All our cities that were producing units switch to tanks.

Turn 9 – 1605 – Japan and Babylon sign embargo, and China and Japan sign a MPP. Several Tanks produced – All move to our staging point at Twin Peaks. We also have one transport on the other coast, at I’ve Got Silk. We sure have a lot of workers, most of my time is spent with them.

Turn 10 – 1610 – Japan declares war on us, and attacks our destroyer with an ironclad, and they win  China declares war under the MPP.

Summary – It’s time to invade. We are all set to go, we just need a few more tanks and transports. We might try to get England and Russia in on our side, I’m not sure. Our top priority is to CAPURE LUXURIES – that will help our score a lot.

Gojky - Where are you at with this?

Gojky walks into the hushed room, only a few murmurs could be heard. He is greeted and then seated next to the man he has come to see.

“Come now Gojky, surly you have many things to do and I wouldn’t dare keep you from your work.”

“Non-sense Bismarck, we Indians are never too busy to talk peace.”

“Well in that case what did you have in mind?”

“As you have probably found out I have recently installed a spy in your country. Now don’t be alarmed, this is just to make sure that no harm comes to my great country. Using this spy I have found out that you don’t have any better troops than riflemen and as you also know, I have a large battalion of tanks.”

“Yes I suspected as much but why tell me all this?”

“Because Bismarck I do not want to fight you, instead I want us to become even closer and have a military protection pact.”

“This is quite an honor and I would shorly be a fool to pass this up, it is done.”

“Excellent!”

Two hours later Gojky is on the phone over a secure line to the king of the Babylon’s.

“Then it’s a deal, we will both protect each other in this time of war. *Hangs up* Now just one more.”

Ten minutes later in his private office, “Read that last part back to me please.”

“I sincerely hope that you agree to this so that both India and Russia may rule the world together.”

“Yes that is perfect, send it right away.”

The next day the reply came back and Gojky was grinning from Ear to Ear.

Epilog: - The world is at war.

On one side there is India, Russia, Germany and the Babs.
On the other is England and China. Japan is at war with every one. I mainly moved workers around and fixed a few cities, such as selling some coal plants and Micro managing the workers.

The picture here will show you what I had planned in a few turns and all of the free units are in bunches near the transports. I have built quite a few planes and we have two carriers currently.

We just entered the modern age so you can change the research to what ever you what. My final suggestion is that if you want to go and attack that you use the cavalry as the will be obsolete very soon and to also change to monarchy when we start getting war-weary, but since we have Universal Suffrage War weariness has yet to surface.

Good luck!

Inherited: Fortified many tanks and infantry. War is an option, but war leads to war weariness, and happy people give more points. ACK, why are we giving babylon salt peter and horses, and giving horses and rubber to germany? And oil and saltpeter to russia? Many cities switched from military production to infrastructure.

1) 1655 Workers sent into the jungles to clear it out.
England offers peace, too bad we can't take it.

2) 1660 Polution strikes. Clearance of jungle continues.

3) 1665 Izumo captured, misclick, I meant to raze it, oh well, we have a barracks, harbor and marketplace in it now.

4) 1670 More jungle cleared.
Japan and Germany have signed a peace treaty.

5) 1675 More jungle cleared.
Germany declares war on china. Japan and England have signed a peace treaty.

6) 1680 Computers learned, Fission begun.

7) 1685 Infantry upgraded to Mech Infantry.

8) 1690 More jungle cleared.

9) 1695 More jungle cleared.

10) 1700 *yawn* more jungle cleared.
The Chinese offer peace, we turn them down. Germany and England have signed a peace treaty. The Germans declare war on us :(

11) 1705 Even more jungle cleared.
Russia and China have signed a peace treaty. Russia declared war on the chinese when the chinese bombarded our coast with an ironclad.

12) 1710 Fission leared, miniaturization started. Our giving away of resources ends, and peace with everyone except Germany, who refuses to talk to us yet.

13) 1715 Back to clearing jungle.

14) 1720 More jungle cleared.

15) 1725 More Jungle cleared.
Germany and Japan have signed a military alliance against Babylon.

16) 1730 And the jungle continues to fall.
Babylon and China have signed a peace treaty.

17) 1735 Miniaturization researched, Genetics began.

18) 1740 Da Capital completes the SETI Program.

Germany refuses to talk to us still. There has been no sign of them trying to launch an attack against us. Our ships are fortified along our coast. And we have a huge lead in score.

shdwlord -

1 - Please post the game again.
Downloading keeps bringing up your placeholder.

2 - Please post a NEW post with results.
I didn't even realize you played, since LK15 had no new post.
I just check where the game was, and stumbled on to this.

Sorry about that, thought with the server space problems it would be helpful to only have 1 post, I guess that won't work though. Here is the saved game again

Pre-turn
I generally HATE wealth being built, but I don't see what else to build.
If war starts, we can crank units big time - we have the needed fleet to persue overseas.
Attitude check
Babylon - Polite, China - Annoyed, England - Furious, Japan - Furious, Russia - Cautious
Germany won't talk, should I send him a LARGE envoy?
Peace between Russia and Japan.

1745 AD - Start working on optimizing cities >_< starts factory, mining takes eta from 35 to 30 turns. I will be doing a lot of that. I top Da Capital over 100, and save a turn.
England and China sign an alliance against Japan.
Japan and Babylon sign a peace treaty.
1750 AD - Genetics completed, start Ecology.
1752 AD - Cure for Cancer, and Longevity are started.
Germany still won't talk.
1758 AD - Begin research on Recycling - start building mass transit.
1760 AD - All wealth cities switch to mass transit.
1762 AD - Germany still won't talk.
1766 AD - Pollution hell round, I can't believe how many ugly orange squares this turn.
England and Babylon sign a peace treaty.
Finish Recycling, start Sythetic fibers.
1768 AD - We complete the Cure for Cancer - I can't remember the last time I build that wonder.
1772 AD - Let's see if Germany will talk now - Frankfurt is captured - of course, the harbor gets destroyed.
1774 AD - I place Frankfurt in Zero growth mode, rush harbor to get the incencse home.
Cologne falls - This takes the ONLY Germany Oil source away.
1776 AD - Can't get $2/turn from England anymore, so a straight 2 for 1 luxury deal, fine by me.
1778 AD - Begin research on Stealth.
1780 AD - Zzzzzzzzzzzz
Japan and China sign a peace treaty.
Longevity is completed - I don't know if I EVER build that before in a game.

Summary - The only decision, at some point do we expand even more, to get more score?
Rocketry next - we can't see Aluminum yet.

Charliehoke - how goes it?

"Tomorrow" is almost gone.

Pre Turn:

As I take over the game, it becomes obvious to me that we need to make a major move, and now. There are two major components to getting a high score: territory and happy citizens. The major problem we have is that we don't have enough luxuries. Therefore, I decide to take some, by force. This will have the added benefit of securing us some more territory as well.

As I check possible invasion routes, two spring up immediately. First the Russians, for three reasons: 1) They have around 8 gems, 2) Their territory is close enough to our capitol that it might actually be productive, 3) They are small, so we can wipe them out completely.

I also decide to invade the Japanese, as they have an abundance of wines, and are also fairly close.

In preparation, I look at our status. WHY are we researching stealth? Modern Armor will be far more useful, and we have the technology to build them, but we can't see Aluminum yet. I immediately change our research to rocketry. I trade China silk+dyes for ivory, to help our citizens get through the upcoming war. Several WLTM days start with this one extra resource - see how helpful they are!

P.S. I played a few extra turns so as not to dump a big - mid invasion mess on the next person.

Turn 1 - 1786 AD - immediately, I fill up two transports with tanks and Mech infantry and move towards the Russians. They will land next turn.

Turn 2 - 1788 AD - WAR I land 32 tanks and mech infantry on the Russian lands, right next to Kiev. Our battleships and bombers attack the city, killing several population and also destroying the barracks!

Turn 3 - 1790 AD - Our bombardment reduces Kiev to rubble, and our tanks easily capture it. I also go through our military and upgrade or disband virtually all of our old units, including our cavalry. We need the money, and since the AI has infantry and we are 1 turn away from getting modern armor, they are useless.

Turn 4 - 1792 AD - Chinese cavalry are moving on Moscow just ahead of our tanks! In addition the Chinese are attacking the Germans up north, and seem to be doing well. I don't expect they'll get Moscow though, as the Russians are conscripting infantry like crazy.

Our battleships kill a Russian destroyer along with a transport - looks like 8 Russian troops met a watery grave! We assault Moscow! It was a major battle. The Russians had around 10 defenders - 3 or so vet infantry, a bunch of conscript infantry, and some outdated units. We lost 3 tanks, but we capture it! They have Magellan's expedition!! This is a great help, as all our boats have one more movement now - should really help with the invasions. A harbor is rushed in Kiev, and we have access to gems!

Turn 5 - 1794 AD - WLTM days all over our empire!! Luxuries are awesome! Temples rushed in both of our new cities. We attack Sverdlovsk - it is well defended again - we lose several tanks, but we capture and raze the city. We need to get our modern armor down here - I'm building it in almost every major city back home.

Turn 6 - 1796 AD - An aluminum dries up, but that's ok we still have 3 more. The I'm going to wait for modern armor before continuing attack. The AI has the technology for tanks now, but Russia and Japan don't have rubber that I can tell :goodjob:

Turn 7 - 1798 AD - We catch England trying to plant a spy. Our bombers cut off the Russian’s coal supply. We attack Valdivostok, and our modern armor captures it with no losses. Truly awesome! 8 modern armor and 8 regular tanks are landing in Japan soon.

Turn 8 - 1800 AD - I cut the Russian supply to all their remaining gems. We attack Minsk, and capture it, but we do lose a modern armor this time. Oh well. Barracks rushed in our new cities so we can upgrade all our tanks to modern.

Turn 9 - 1802 AD - The Germans have been completely destroyed by the Chinese!!!!! Space flight researched, starting on nuclear power! NOTE: I'm not building the Manhattan project on purpose - I don't want the other civs to have that ability if I can help it. We certainly don't need to nuke anyone, yet.

Turn 10 - 1804 AD:

Attack on St. Petersburg - Captured!
Attack on Sevastopol - Captured!
Attack on Smolensk - Captured!

And on the Japanese front -

Attack on Kyoto - Captured! They had a major defense - 10+ infantry and even a Samurai! We capture J.S. Bach's cathedral in Kyoto, as an added bonus!

Turn 11 - 1806 AD - War weariness showing up now, but then again we are about to get wines online!! I trade a bunch of gold to the English to get furs anyway, to get us through this war.

Attack on Satsuma - captured. Satsuma's harbor isn't destroyed, though, so guess what, we have wines online! Chuckville founded in the Russian territory. Attack on Tiblisi - Russians completely destroyed!

We have all 8 luxuries connected, and 5 of them are local!! I think we can trade for the other three for the rest of the game... We have lots of extras of the ones we do have and we can use those to get the rest.

Turn 12 - 1808 AD - China and England join the feeding frenzy and ally against Japan. A Japanese destroyer appears out of nowhere and sinks a transport  Our people are celebrating WLTM days all over again!

Nara attacked - captured.
Osaka attacked - captured. In the fray, a great leader emerges - SHIVA! I immediately form an army and send it into battle.

Turn 13 - 1810 AD - Toyko captured! Edo captured! Our army is victorious! We can now build the Heroic Epic and the Military academy. The Japanese have one more city on this island, and after it falls we can ask for peace.

Turn 14 - 1812 AD - The Chinese capture the last Japanese city before we get the chance to! Oh well. Nuclear Power discovered, and every city on the mainland that can starts work on nuke plants. I dial up Japan, and they won't talk. Fools!

NOTES TO NEXT PLAYER:

We have HUGE amounts of modern armor and mech infantry in our newly conquered lands (see screenshot). We could probably take out everyone, right now, although I'm not producing any more units, but that could always be changed. It's really up to you - obviously if we take all the land area and all the luxuries, our score will be higher.

What do you guys think? Should we wipe out everyone? It obviously helps our score to do this sort of thing - our score skyrocketed just during my 14 turns.
