LK15 - India, to the end

Ok,

On the diplomatic front I tried to trade away most of our excess luxuries but every one was always to poor for them, I also trade economics, contanct with the Persians and our world map to get some needed luxuries because until the Persians were totally dead the war weariness was mighty.

I settled two cities, GojkyVille and Brother of Filler. These are right next to the forbidden palace and so will do well.

I have just started research to Theory of gravity so if anyone wants to change it then by all means but I think with us sooooo close to rails we should get them and jump to an awe inspiring lead. We will be half way through the industrial age before and other civs reaches us.

We can always by the rest of the advances from the civs for lots of money and then get that money back by trading them resources and luxuries.

Oh and I had to move a few defenders from town to the front line so about 5-6 cities don’t have a defender!

Good Luck shdwlord!

Good riddance to persia :die!:

Next goal - Get up on infastrcture.

If we get the upper half of Persia usefull, we will have a hugh production base. Looking good :)

Inherited: lowered luxuries to 0, raised science to 70%, ToG now in 4 turns.

1) 1110 squeaked a few more gold out of some of our trade deals.
Japan, Babylon, and England all have settlers in former persian territory.

2) 1120 Blocking settlers from getting further into persian territory.
Babylon forms Ashur.

3) 1130

4) 1140 ToG learned, metallurgy ordered.

5) 1150 Da Capital finishes Copernicus's Observatory, begins Newtons. Japan start Bach's and Smith's. English start smith's. Russians start smith's and bach's. Chinese start bach's.

6) 1160

7) 1170

8) 1180 metallurgy completed, magnetism ordered.

9) 1190 Wall street started.

10) 1200

I sent several settlers down towards persian territory, but its too late, the English, Chinese, Japanese, and Babylonians have settlers there already. We barely have a tech lead, but we have one. We do have enough war elephants to kick everyone off of our continent, if the next leader wants to risk going to war with everyone. Magnetism in 2 turns, railroads after that. We have a 362 point lead over England, and a 505 point lead over 3rd place Japan, so we have score locked up as long as we can prevent the computer from winning by any other means. I don't remember which victory conditions are allowed, but dom/conq/culture wont be a problem as long as we hold our continent, diplo wont be a prob if we get UN, so all we have to worry about is the AI building the space ship. If they start, we need to take their capitals, so eventually we need to build an invasion force, just in case.

Remember, this is to the END.

All victory conditions were disabled.

Histograph is the winning method (2050AD).

I doubt you will see a combat war from me ....
However, a cultural squeeze? :flamedevi:

Pre-turn
Switch a city to settler, I want to begin the culture squeeze.
Rush temple in The last lorn - culture squeeze again.
mm 1 turn off of Bach's Cathedral. mm 2 turns off of Wall Street. Nothing for helping Newton's.
mm 1 turn off of Smith's. mm 2 turns off of Magellans, plus a square to mine.
Upgrade units until cash = $1010 - still a lot to go.
I see my goal - more musketmen.
Nothing to trade despite a lot of idle luxuries.
Rename "this is the 10th rename to 10th rename" - Just to long of a name.

1210 AD - The price for ivory gets absurd, so I have to let it die.
Jump to steam power - We still need to back fill democracy, military tradition, etc.
However, rails are just to powerful to resist.
Palace expansion.
Competition for smiths and newtons.
1220 AD - 2 more units upgrade. mmow.
1230 AD - [dance] Smith's is ours.
1240 AD - 3 more units upgrade. mmow. (notice a theme here?)
The other civs are getting on my nerves as the continue to pollute on continent.
1250 AD - Competition for Magellans.
1255 AD - Another luxury up in price, wines cost us another $5/t.
1260 AD - JungleLand is completed - immediate temple is ordered.
1265 AD - Start move troops on our island, to continue the upgrade process.
Next goal - Industrialization and factories.
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR - No connected coal. Mass worker rush to a hill by the last lorn.
There may be just 3 coal in the world!
1270 AD - We I knew we would lose somewhere - Japan completes bach.
Cascades to newton and Magellan.
1275 AD - Horseville is formed - orders a temple.
Add screwed out of Newton to the list.
1280 AD - 168 shields flushed in Da Capitial, and a regular university is completed.
5 more painfull turns waiting for coal.
Cascade to Magellans.
1285 AD - 4 more turns...
1290 AD - The last worker arrives, 2 more turns.
1295 AD - We get enough cash to justify a few upgrades.
MPP between Japan and Babylon, guess who researched Nationalism.
Begin research on Medicine, with goal of ToE.
1300 AD - In a cruel twist of fate, Iron Works can be build in a 1/1 town.
Massive # of factories are ordered.
SaltPeter to Japan for Printing Press, wm, $17.
Nothing else, as I refuse to give the AI steam power.
1305 AD - Flip them is built.
1310 AD - I love rails, 4 turns saved on Twin Peeks factory from one rail segment.
1315 AD - Flip 2 and More Flipper are built.
1320 AD - Electric power is ordered.
1325 AD - Some civ got screwed - we discover a new iron source.

Summary -
1 - Head towards ToE, if we get it, our tech lead will be permanent.
2 - Keep upgrading units.
3 - Gee, build rails?
4 - Don't trade steam power, except for a crisis

Up next - charliehoke

Woohoo!!! We got rails!

Now to quickly wrap this game up, hehe!

But if you guys are interested, after rails have been completed we can then go to war with everyone and kick them off our island.

Then we can sit back or do some other crazy stuff such as mass Paratrooper invasion.

Go team go!

Uhhh....
Are you forgetting to the end?
Remember, all victory conditrions were turned off.

Lkendter, I know that this is too the end with no victory conditions.

What I meant was that I have never had such a powerful start and such I don't usually have such a convincing lead until the middle of the industrial age. With our fairly convincining lead so early in the industrial age, and with rail I reacon that we are gonna shoot up higher very quickly.

Yeh well anyway Good luck charliehoke!

Well just be glad it took Persia forever to hook up iron,
or it would have been ugly.

Next challenge, flip those annoy cities of our continent.

I wonder what happends in a no victory condition game if you take the world over?

A good 10 turns: :D

1325 AD - Pre-Turn - Several of our lower production cities set to workers - we need more. In an AMAZING trade, I trade the Chinese one of our 4 extra iron sources for Nationalism, Democracy, and 8g/turn!!!. What a fantastic trade!! I guess I know which civ lost their iron source... I immediately call for a Revolution!

1330 AD - Turn 1 - We are a Democracy!! +42g/turn now, and our rails will be completed much faster. The dastardly Russians complete Magellan's Expedition 3 turns before we do... In response, Filler changes to factory, and Low Priority changed to Wall Street. We get Wall street earlier now, and not TOO many shields are wasted.

1335 AD - Turn 2 - Chinese request an audience, and ask for MPP and ROP. Ummm... NO! Wall Street completed - +92g/turn now. Factory complete in Filler.

1340 AD - Turn 3 - English Request Audience... Want MPP. Uh.... NO!

1345 AD - Turn 4 - Factory in Hillville complete - Starting University - I want to solidify our tech lead. A couple of larger cities that were building factories switched to Cathedrals - they were going to revolt and this will help our score due to the 6 extra content people in each city!!!

The Culture Squeeze is working, and the Chinese city of Chinan flips to us!!! Temples bought in all our flipper cities, and we are still over 1000 gold.

1350 AD - Turn 5 - Germany dials up - wants to trade World Maps. Uhh.. OK!

1355 AD - Turn 6 - Da Capitol finishes factory - 49 shields/turn! Set to Bank. Several Civs have military tradition... I trade silks + 50g to the Babylonians for it. Saving up some gold to buy temples in the two soon-to-be-founded flipper cities.

1360 AD - Turn 7 - England and China sign MPP - I sense a World War brewing... :rocket: Our newest city, "Son of Flipper" founded. A temple will be purchased there next turn. We are discovering Electricity next turn, so I lower the science slider, and net us a whopping 491 gold to go along with it!

1365 AD - Turn 8 - The Japanese renegioate the wines deal - we give them ~300 gold to renew... Going for Scientific Method so we can get ToE - Scientific method in 4 Turns!!! Democracy is great, and our tech lead is pretty much assured now.

1370 AD - Turn 9 - Several cities finish factories... Lot of rails...

1375 AD - Turn 10 - Capitol switched to Coal Plant - I intended this to be a place holder for ToE but it might actually make more sense to finish the plant. Industrial Metal Works is building riflemen to bolster our defense, and we also have enough money for some upgrades.

We are still 3 techs ahead of the other civs (Steam Power, Medicine, and Electricity). It's the home stretch now boys, or at least the home stretch up to the part where we get to wait until 2050!!

Gojky (playing) <<
shdwlord (on deck)

Next goals - I agree ToE, then Hoover.
At the point we are a powerhouse.

Ok Our civ is Good!!!

Q: What did I do in my turn?
A: Lots of worker movement!

Nice and quick summary.

Wonders :- Got Universal suffrage, Theory of Evolution and have started the hover dam.

Advances :- Scientific Method, Replaceable parts, Communism, Atomic Theory and Electronics (Both from ToE)

Resources :- Got all our rubber online, traded our silks and dyes, Got furs and Ivory from the other civs.

Military :- Upgraded all our troops to Infantry. Got one cavalry for show. Military Rail is in place!

Um That's All, Up next Shdwlord.

Inherited: All entertainers fired. We have a strong military compared to everyone :goodjob: Iron to china cancelled, let them suffer without being able to build any new rails.

1) 1455 Gloucester flips to us.
Chinese start Shakespeare's.

2) 1460 The Corporation learned, Sanitation started. Ashur flips to us. Ningpo flips to us.
Babylon starts Shakespeare's. English start Shakespeare's.

3) 1465 Workers sent to clean up pollution.
Japan cancels deal for wines, they want too much to renew it.

4) 1470 MMOW

5) 1475 MMOW
Russia and bablylon have signed an MPP.

6) 1480 Sanitation learned, steel began.
Russians begin Shakespeare's.

7) 1485 MMOW
Japanese start Shakespeare's.

8) 1490 A swordsman fortified in the jungle dies.

9) 1495 MMOW

10) 1500 Hoovers completed.

Looks like we have this well in hand, with all of our territory, the only way we can lose is if we are invaded. The only way I see that happening is if someone nukes all of our military, so I would spread them out once nukes come online.
