Yes, we do know. Britain, Germany, and Russia are the last Modern Age wildcards. We don't know they aren't a civ in VII at launch. Certainly they would make the most sense in an Egypt three-era stack.

At launch I'd expect Ottomans over the Mamluks but looks like they aren't even happening at the moment. We don't know they aren't a civ in VII at launch. Certainly they would make the most sense in an Egypt three-era stack.

There are lots of great threads on here which pretty much spell it out. I would recommend reading up on those. 10 civs per age leaves very little wiggle room. You can infer based on a strict interpretation of a single press statement. You do not know.
That’s so kind of you, thanks! Loving reading all the thoughts on this thread too.Looking forward to the next video @Paisley_Trees
I'm still not too confident in either Germany or Russia. They have wonders, but so did Assyria and Teotihuacan and Tonga and Silla and Babylon and the Goths and the Nabateans and the Franks. The Panzer look suggests a potential unique unit, but we've seen Meiji Japan using it too, so whether it's randomized unit variety or tied to some other system, we know it can exist in game without Germany. That leads them with the same amount of evidence as Gaul or the wonder civs. Maybe the Middle East shifts over to Mughal India or Buganda, and that's that. Maybe the Pacific Ocean has to jump ship to either America or Japan on launch. At least one of the two is likely the case. But when Germany and Russia have evidence that could very well mean nothing, there's certainly room to speculate on Maori or Ottoman or some other civ.Yes, we do know. Britain, Germany, and Russia are the last Modern Age wildcards.
It does imply that access to camels may give a gameplay unlock of them.Bias to start near camels is interesting to me for 2 reasons:
1. It might imply that camels are needed for camel units
2. If camels are usually found in the desert, this also represents a desert bias start
Edit:
3. If you evolve into this civ, does that mean camels might be generated near you that weren't there before?
Well I also thought about that but I'm not sure it's a good idea - especially there is no unique feature related with the camels. It does imply that access to camels may give a gameplay unlock of them.
I think that's a reasonable prediction. So with the Mosque as Abbasid UB, does that mean that there are no special "Religious Buildings" unlocked through Beliefs in your Religion?
Probably the appearance of generic Temples for Western European civs. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised to see Byzantium get a unique Vasilike or Naos or something like that.Is there going to be a European civilization with the cathedral as their unique building? (probably not)
Not enough information about the religion system, maybe it works differently compared with 5 and 6.So with the Mosque as Abbasid UB, does that mean that there are no special "Religious Buildings" unlocked through Beliefs in your Religion? Since the mosque lets you found a religion I see that going 3 possible waysNot enough information about the religion system, maybe it works differently compared with 5 and 6.
If we have the Unique religion for each Exploration civ, I think FXS more likely wrote it on the website. So I guess that there is still the religion selection in Civ7, but it could be more simplified than the previous 2 titles.
I doubt it forces you to found Islam. I'm sure it will be like Civ6 where you have a handful of historical religions and a handful of generic symbols you can attach your own name to. (And we will all patiently wait for Tomatekh to enrich the list.)Since the mosque lets you found a religion I see that going 3 possible ways
1. The mosque lets you found a historically named religion of your choice (so it can be a Christian Mosque or Hindu Mosque, etc)
2. The Mosque founds Islam (or Shia/Sunni) a unique named religion
3. The Mosque lets you found a generic unnamed religion
We have seen icons for Christianity and Hinduism in the game so far, so probably not 3Since the mosque lets you found a religion I see that going 3 possible ways

If base game has a Schism mechanic I will sacrifice my firstborn upon my Ed Beach AltarOne other thought…. it lets you Found a religion.
Maybe there are other ways to get a religion besides founding it.
Schisms might be something
Abbasids found Christianity
it spreads to another empire
The other empire can create a schism (Splitting the religion into Catholic and Orthodox or Orthodox and Protestant)
