New Civs [Suggestion/Request]

Russia spawns as Kievan Rus at Kiev at 880AD. Mongols attack deadly the Kievan Russ around 1300AD and collapse. Then let Russia be the rebirth that spawns at Moscaw at 1500AD.

UU: Varnagian mercanary: Horse archer, free city raider
UB: Veche: courthouse +1:culture:
UP: The power of honey: +1:commerce: per forest
UHV:
1st goal: Build three orthodox cathedrals
2nd goal: Establish tree trade missions by 1500AD
3rd goal: Don not lose any city by 1500AD and control Saint Peterburg, Novgorod, Kiev, Poland, Volga river and Crimaia in 1500AD
 
I think this thread is done already. What other civ could we possibly put into DoC? We covered all the major civilizations and even more.
 
Leoreth has basically said that the Swahili will be eventually be added. I also think there's a case for Turkestan.
 
I'd say Polynesia first, then let's talk about Swahili.
But before all of that, let's add minor religion and other game mechanic first imo.

Generic Turkic state with dynamic names providing dynastic differences is best.

In my modmod I will probably use the Kievan Rus' idea for Russia's slot. For Turkestan, I will probably use the Mughal slot for them, they would die to the Seljuks, then respawn as the Mughals in Afghanistan with a giant death-army outside of each city in the current Mughal flip zone (SVN 650). Just give me some ideas for the Turkic civ and I will try to add them in.
 
I wanted to use them as spawn hubs for barbarian units, and as a means to create slaves if you're running slavery. They would respawn in territory that isn't culture covered. Maybe there is also still the possibility of them giving gold or something which would represent negotiation with the natives.

This would of course mean that the old random bonus mechanic has to be removed, but frankly that has never been particularly realistic.

Off topic, but as i stand on the fringe of playing DoC again after months of no play, i'm glad to read this :D

Am i too ambitious to think these villages would be a perfect manner of filling up most of the empty space in the map? This would make early exploration more dangerous and interfere with the player settling plans. Later however, they will provide a "hunting ground" to provide an armed player with gold, experience and slaves (much like creeps work in Warcraft 3).

You've read Guns, Germs, and Steel, Leoreth. So I imagine you have a good idea of what the huts should do.
 
There's already a Turkish civilization. Turk or Turkic civilization would be confusing. How about Kazakh?
 
If we won't call them as Turks, then they should be the largest tribe of the Turks: ''Oghuz''. in my opinion, they can represent most of the nomadic tribes. I think khazaks weren't important in 10th century, but Oghuz Turks founded and destroyed too many great states.
