Would somebody be up to Modding a NES based on Liberal Crime Squad? It is quite an interesting game!

Lookin' pretty retro there Abaddon. It could be interesting.![]()
So, I had an Idea for a story NES that would require very little input from the Moderator. In this NES, players would be individual characters, participating in a tournament. The Moderator would regulate this tournament, which would be fought with stories.
Every turn would be run in two phases, the combat phase, where the contestants post stories of their interpretation of the conflict between themselves and their opponent. The Second phase would be the Voting Phase, where the public would vote between the stories, resulting in a victor and loser, who would then move on to the next part of the bracket.
THoughts? any interest?
(Note: Characters would be something generic like: Necromancer, Spec. Ops forces, Power Armored Soldier, etc... Generic, and from many different Genres.)
Whoah, just because it's been tried before doesn't mean it doesn't bear trying a second time- Nylan's first tournament NES was a success, and I had a lot of fun writing for it.![]()
The Tournament: Rules
At it’s heart, this NES is a story writing competition. Stories, as it is stated in every NES, are the basis and core of NESing. As such, this NES will try to strike at that very essence, to be a purely Story NES. This Story will be an attempt at Collaborative story telling, drawing on the writer inside of you. A Shout-out NEEDS go to Nylan, who ran a similar NES a few years back, and from who I have stolen a large section of the Rules.
The Setting:
Why you are here is not important. Some are here for glory, some for the illusive prize, but all that matters is that they are here, drawn together for the single-minded, bloody, goal of beating the tar out of each other. The setting is an Arena, able to place the competitors in the environment chosen by the All powerful Moderator. For those here to fight, the only way out is through victory... or in a body bag.
Rules:
You will create a character and enter them in the competition, beginning with an entry where they find themselves in the amusement park. This entry should demonstrate a little of their personalities and what they are capable of (NOTE: This is submitted before matchups are posted and the first round begins). Each turn will have two rounds. In the first, you will be paired up against another player. Each of you must write a story with your character defeating your opponent’s character. In the second, the public will select vote on which story was better and that character will move on, while the other will be eliminated from the competition. Victory goes to the last character still in the competition.
Rules:
-Anyone can enter! Please don’t hesitate to give it a try. Have some fun writing!
-Fan-characters will not be accepted. Do not introduce any characters from an existing franchise you do not yourself own. Any sort of special abilities, magic powers, or weapons you bring with you are allowed, just remember that good story writing is the name of the game
-Battles can be written however you like, so long as they end in your defeat of your opponent. Of the utmost importance is preserving story canon (entries from the winners of previous rounds) and capturing the personality of your opponent’s character.
-Battles don’t necessarily have to end with your opponent’s character getting mutilated or focus entirely on your character’s sweet moves. The focus should be on creativity and originality, and it just has to be a “defeat”. Write the way you like to write, and don’t be afraid to express yourself or try something new. Essentially, just demonstrate your character defeating their opponent, and give the public a reason to want to see more of them.
-Quality trumps quantity
-Since a nice clean 1 – 2 – 4 – 8 – 16 – 32 tournament isn’t likely, we are going to have to improvise. If there is an odd number left, a group may have three contestants or one player may be given a bye. Matchups will be randomized each round to ensure fairness.
-Should there be a Tie in the voting, I will assign the victor based on my own preferences. (I will not be voting normally.)
-At the end of each turn, I will post the victors, as well as the matchup (and settings) for the Next round.
-Lurker comments are encouraged, so long as they are on topic, as are Spectator Stories.
-Above all, HAVE FUN. That’s what it’s all about, really
