New NESes, ideas, development, etc

What are some pros and cons of forum-based D&D?

Cons: Different timezones, slow speed. Dice rolling will be iffy.

Can the Pathfinder rules be found online, Iggy? I've found an online (free) character generator for 3.5 and have the players handbook 1 and the monster manual for 4.0.

So I'm tacking up a species bestiary for the distant future Fallout Downunder, a BOTWAWKI type deal set in Australia.

How many species do you guys think is enough, and how many is too many? I've got 7, but there's still so many Australian animals to parody.

NOT EXACTLY RELEVENT BUT HILARIOUS. I think a good handful, say 20 or so, would add enough delicious hijinx.

The reasons why CFC.com: the MES/NES failed

I think that my NES might have worked better if I allowed players to go on their own, instead of forcing them to be on the same ship.

Kinda thought that Dragonson's M&A NESII: Reign of the Ashlord could be a good base on which a NES based on what I created could be developed.

If I get enough free time in my future, I might try my hand again at this. However, should anyone feel up to the task of modding such a game, I'd love to play it.

Or, potentially, you need not have forced them ALL on one ship, but had three or four ships that they could choose from. And move between, if they so desired.

Problem would be that, then, when the reward was a ship mod, only the ship owner would win that. Mayhaps it could be everyone having their own small ship, and the ships could be connected with each other, to create a bigger, more powerful ship. Would provide for the combination of independence and companionship that maybe players would like. And each person could mod their ship the way they wanted.

We have too many of those.

What we need are some classic blobbing crazy borders and anachronistic nations with unrealistic leaps of technological innovation and modernistic leadership starting at 4000 B.C. OLD SKOOL. ;)

Maybe something where you need at least 2 to do/start most missions (or official ones). Also maybe there is a chance of miswarping, with more/better ships working together they can warp more successfully.

I have just become a fan of AH.com. Curse you all.

And part of the reason why AH.com seems to work might be that they don't always have all the characters involved. I think allowing players to split up as desired would help any theoretical third incarnation.

Well, that would probably depend on the piloting ability. And, well, I do think that maybe there could be some sort of "ranking" of missions, where each offered mission can be taken only if at least N people join in. All alternate Earths should be equally easy to access, at most there might be complications if the Acebees become present in large numbers.

After all, there is a chance that, sometimes, players may want to go on their own to have an adventure...

Glad to bring a new one under the fold :P

Yes, you are right, it would help. Only, let's see who can do it. I'd be willing to help with the development, if someone else takes the reins of the modding.
