None Shall Pass [Game Thread - Concluded]

It sounds so tempting to believe but it's so....bollocks. Does anybody have abilities even remotely similar?

I don't know why the LOTR town would have that and not the SW town. If you're a SW townie with that ability, you can claim to me.

It's not like anyone else is acting more suspicious, and he's the only one besides me and Pizza that has any chance of being lynched.

What do I know? Maybe he figures that if he self-votes every time, eventually it will get people to ignore him when he actually is mafia.

Color me confused, but if you have a two-step ability, why bother to scan them to see 'if' they can be converted, why not just go around and make people nonconvertible? I mean, here's how I see it:

As claimed: Night One, Scan.

Yes = Night Two, Fix
No = Night Two, scan another. Result: wasted Night One.

As I'd handle things:

Night One, make character nonconvertible. If works, he's nonconvertible. If not, it fails and you try again on Night Two with another player. To solve the 'dying' issue, let another player who you intend to fix each night. If you die, that guy is Cultist and gets whacked in thread. You're gone, but so are they.

So yea, I'm finding a hard time believing this. The role is too slow for the number of players it can possibly impact, plus there's ways around the drawback that is dying. I mean from what you're saying, it's a 100% scan of a cultist should you let someone else know beforehand.

TALLY:

Link to Night One update.

Speak up if you see any errors!

Time left in DAY TWO: [TIMER=10/29/2013 11:59 PM EDT; Day Two Over]your mom lol[/TIMER]

unvote: vote TBK. I will give choxorn some time to explain himself. What is your character name, for one thing?

actually unvote: vote Choxorn. The G3tC lynch is a terrible plan while the choxorn lynch has a good chance of giving results

I really don't like that you failed to state who your character is.

So what was your action first night chox?

Actually, Choxorn's ability is easily tested.

I scanned somebody and found them convertible.

I won't say who I scanned, because HURR DURR CULT HERE'S SOMEONE YOU CAN CONVERT.

Though, on the other hand, if everyone knew they were convertible, It would make it easier to find them if they do get converted.

I really don't like that you failed to state who your character is.

I'm Galadriel, if you must know.

I'm not exactly sure why characters matter considering all the cover roles that are likely to be floating around.

Again, BL has some good reasoning.

Gets whacked via lynch, assuming his contact posts in-thread. Guy claiming in-thread has no motive to lie about who he tried making nonconvertible, unless of course that guy is Cultist. Which in that case, tell another person beforehand also. It can be used as a scan, assuming the appropriate arrangements are made. The issue I have is we (the townies as a whole) have no way of knowing he's using ability two and not ability one. The 'fixed' players would have to report in-thread that they have been, which is pointless because preferably the Cultists would burn conversion attempts on players who they can't convert. Telling them who they can't is counter-productive. Done privately however, there's the potential for network creation...

As explained by choxorn, it would take two nights to make a player nonconvertible, assuming he even finds one. Also per his explanation, it only works on LotR players, so the pool of players he can impact is diminished by roughly half. So he has to burn a night and hope he finds someone, where the second infinitely more important claimed ability is not being used at all until he finds someone. From a townie standpoint, the first ability is worthless without the second one. It's only use is to prevent choxorn from trying to fix a Cultist and dying. So yea, it takes too long to prevent the smaller pool of players from being converted.

You assume that the fixed players would even be told what I did to them, and I'm not really sure of that. Or you know, maybe I could make someone unconvertible, tell them to say that to one or two other people and have them relay it to the thread, like with what you said for the plan where I die?

Well, obviously. That was my plan from the beginning, and what I assume my role is designed to do.

"His abilities aren't overpowered, he must be lying!"

This is everything you need to know about my role:

1. I'm from the LOTR Town. If you want, I can give you exactly who I am, but it probably doesn't matter.
2. I'm unconvertible.
3. I can scan people for their susceptibility to conversion. This will be "Yes" for presumably a good number of Townies, "No" for Cultists and other unconvertible townies.
4. I can make someone else unconvertible. If they're a member of the LOTR town, this succeeds. If they're a member of the Star Wars Town, this does nothing. If they're a member of either cult, I die.
5. I can't use both of my abilities on the same night.
6. I don't know what happens if I my second ability on someone on the same night as they get converted, but if someone gets converted on the same night that I scan them, my scan happens first, and probably gives me "Can be converted"

Having said all that, If I was cult, why the hell would I possibly expect to get away with claiming something like this? I already knew I'd been scanned to find the Susceptibility ability, I would assume that an ability-scanner would get all of my abilities, not just one of them. Saying I have another ability that this scanner didn't find would be stupid. Your reaction proves this- you weren't as much after me before I claimed the ability, but once I did, literally everyone piled on me.

And sure, I could be WIFOM'ing, but really, have you ever known me to act like a colossal moron when I'm anti-townie to look townie? That's not my style.

Besides, I'm going to get killed tonight anyway. Even if I was cult the opposing cult would never let me live.

Go lynch someone who's actually acting suspicious, like G3TC.

Unvote, Vote: Gone 3 The Celt

You sure you're unconvertable? Even Galadriel (which makes absolute sense, you should've said so sooner) was susceptible to the Ring, though if you were convertible, I suppose nearly everyone else would be too.

The scanning cultist = death sounds like a good reason not to use your ability, but it's also the only way we know of that can actually successfully scan a cultist. You know, assuming you aren't lying. I'm somewhat inclined to believe you, based on my past experiences with crazy roles in large theme games. I'm gonna sleep on it, then decide in the morning.

I don't know why the LOTR town would have that and not the SW town. If you're a SW townie with that ability, you can claim to me.

Why you?

well from what I gather me and pizza are the only people who are claiming publically to be SW town :dunno:
