You won't?I won't make any judgment on the matter wherein others are concerned.
heh, I'll keep that in mind.pretty simple, actually.
I wouldn't want my niece to do porn but if you want to I will defend your right to do so and I will gladly pay a monthly fee to watch it.
Word. Instead of the barbaric practice of circumcision perhaps baby boys should be given a tattoo on their upper thigh or lower belly with an arrow & the reminder : "warning : this thing can make babies!"And unwanted children!
Why are they immoral? Both are immoral but I'm in favor of them being legal.
Take that Libertarians. The socialist agrees with some tenets of Libertarianism.
Why are they immoral?
I know I keep asking this, but I feel that the burden of proof lies on those asserting immorality; not only are they asserting absolutes, but they are applying absolutes to particular scenarios involving sexual intercourse, something which I would presume they do not consider to be immoral in itself.
Tradition! The best judge of anything, at all, ever and forever!
Why are they immoral?
It seems simplistic to equate personal discomfort with immorality. There are a lot of things that make me uncomfortable- often because of the same Catholic hangups that I imagine you possess- but that doesn't mean I make the intellectual leap to explicitly condemn them. Why the act of sexual intercourse isn't immoral, its how it is carried out. Call it my Catholic upbringing or whathave you, I just feel it is wrong.
I can't really back up my opinions with any solid argument. I just feel it is wrong. I'm all for it being legal of course, prostitution less so as more often then not the women are coerced into it.

Oh, I know, you've made it quite clear, and I respect you for your ability to distinguish between personal morality and social justice. I just think that it's important to clarify, for your own sake, the distinction between that which you find immoral, and that which you find merely uncomfortable or distasteful.Yeah I know. As I said I don't have any real arguments on why it is immoral, it just is for me. However I justify my lack of an argument by the fact I'm not trying to force my opinions on to anyone else or to make it illegal.
Well, yes, obviously. Coercion, of any variety, is unacceptable.Coercive prostitution for me is definitly not legal.
An interesting point. One could argue that prostitutes, in a society that did not so consistently attempt to marginalise them, would be among the more fulfilled members of the proletariat, because they have far more immediate control over their means of production. Given that both collectivisation and freelancing are both rather straightforward models for prostitutes, they arguably have the potential to become rather less alienated than many wage workers.Prostitution isn't even selling your body, you're just doing somebody a service.
I would contest the accuracy of such an assertion when applied in the absolute, innate sense seen here; it's certainly accurate to some examples, but to apply it to all demands additional justification. If nothing else, it only applies to pornography and prostitution involving women, which, as we are all quite aware, is not the entirety of either.they are immoral because they oppress women and treat them as sex objects.
Libertarians are immoral because they are motivated by greed.
they are immoral because they oppress women and treat them as sex objects.
Off the top of my head, there are porn sites that work with that kind of conservative Christian attitude. I admit I make fun of them, but it does sort of make sense. Maybe you should check them out some time.
