it may have taken most of my day, but by golly, I finally decided "you know what, I'm going to be lazy today"

Got offered a Christmas temp extension to my current job at M&S.
And that's actually a rant not a rave ...
They only had 23 hour contracts left lasting until Jan 2 ...
If I go over 16 hours per week of work, I have to cancel my benefits.
If I cancel my benefits for a temp job, and then don't get offered a permanent contract after, no benefits no job ...
If they would have offered 23 hours permanent, or <16 hours temporary, I would have gladly taken either and come off my benefits for the former.
Bloody benefit trap.
I attempted negotiation of 2 more months of <16 hours. They said they couldn't go less than 23 as that's all they had left.

Pushed the "I just want to take this last city and then make peace with these yokels" limit in my Civ IV game. Lost enough troops to drop under the dogpile limits for about eight civs.

My computer has some issues so I have to use my brother's computer in the meanwhile (since he's across the state for college he's not using it) and its old and slow. Ugh.

They weren't that heavy.
I wanted this border city because of a horse resource and then it came up in an event. I had planned on just taking that one city, but with the event as soon as I took it I got five extra horsemen. The next city down the road is the center of a religion and I thought the bonus gave me enough horsepower (so to speak) to take it.
I circled around and cut it off, but met the big stack coming from their capital. I crushed that stack, but did lose most of the horsemen and a couple guys in the process. Apparently it was enough to trigger a cascade among the civs who already didn't like me (religious differences).
