Random Rants 94 I rant at the thread title and shake my fist menacingly.

I had to look up yellow jackets in the wiki

That does not sound like fun.

Theres youtube videos dedicated to hive extermination.

Or the biggest ones found. In some areas the hives dont die in winter.

See one early spring/whenever it starts warming up kill it. Might be a queen.

Vacuum cleaner into water is almost unfair way of nest eradication.

Major pests here. One of those huge nests was located here.

I love wasps and consider them friendly.

1. That's an opinion.

2. Invasive species here, different climate (its more mild)

Theres parts of the country with wasp problems. You cant really control the even if funds were made available due to the terrain.

I agree you can't really control wasps, nor bees, nor horses, nor cauliflowers.
You can't really control me and I can't really control you.
Is that freedom?

hey , long time , no see ?

like have cut down on posts now we don't want another Boeing crash , right ?

so people have started to imagine things happening 20 years ago are not exactly forgotten ... So much that promises are afoot to support this political person or that political person as if every promise they might offer isn't null and void until the PM's wife and family or their "competitors in that matter" decide or argue or duke it out on who will replace the PM . This is made more extravagantly BS by the Americans thick underfoot . If they are ex-USN , they would be doubly enjoying in trolling random people . So , like ı have new relatives whom ı had never heard off and in positions of power too , like a WW2 veteran you say , even if we didn't do anything or something . You going to pin Pearl Harbour on this acquitance , as ı have long said you would ? Or claiming a physical performance in something that would justify the number of affairs people claim ı have had ? Minding the Americans more than doubled the city wide conjecture for fun , too ?

just the whole city laughed at me , the whole world is laughing at Turks . You people in the big city you are creating your own to get laughed by the world . Stop inventing numbers of affairs so that some random jealous jerk will get me out for good , because if a is the number you claim , Americans will say 2 times a and it will rebound with 3 times a . Ignore r16 , whatever he says , whatever he does , whatever he posts and you will live better , without Americans pulling your leg and telling even funnier stuff . Do they tell of the times when the catapult failed and ı bellied in directly , ı just climbed on the wing and shouted that's it, ı am going home ? They will tell you ten different versions of it only because they like to fool people . Not an American , not a carrier aviator , not an aviator , never saw a carrier , never sat in a plane , not even as a passenger , but that won't stop them . You should know this best , having invented r16 the death squads commander and the way ever conquering seperatists do not even bother to ask you .

uh , erm , no doubt people will not see this or something in their newsfeeds .

it is rather ugly to talk statistics in relation to a question of when was the last Airbus crash . It seems one burned on the ground in January with no mortalities ? And like wikipedia has some page about 2025 incidents and like a Turkish 747 hit some vehicle on the ground in Hong Kong like two weeks ago , killing two ? Yeah , interesting or something . Let the EU ban all GE and its subsidies from operating or something , maybe . Like this would SURELY make 'em notice people , maybe possibly !

There are horrifying videos online. I assume we can blame the shutdown?
Spoiler Explosion and swearing :

any political pundit will blame election stuff , "seeing the big picture" leads them to . Though the losses are part of the game so that the Rich Democrats can miscontruct political cooperation into becoming even bigger Magas . No , it is not that likely to involve US politics .

It looks like the plane lost engine one - not lost as in lost the use of it, but the entire engine came off. And while any airliner can take off without the power of one of its engines, that degree of catastrophic failure likely caused further damage to the plane - damage to the wing and/or flight controls, potentially debris entering the no. 2 engine, the obvious fire etc - which prevented ascent. Reminds me a lot of AA191 (interestingly enough, a DC-10, from which the MD-11 derives), which similarly had an engine detach on rotation, causing severe damage to the right wing and the pilots couldn't react in time to the asymmetric lift and thrust (not their fault - from what I remember, while it was theoretically possibly to survive, most simulator pilots couldn't get out even knowing it was about to happen, let alone with mere seconds to react to a completely unprecedented situation). That was caused by unsafe maintenance procedures.

Very cautiously speculating, my initial instinct is that it's probably maintenance related here too - either something was installed incorrectly, or a crack/other damage within the engine or mounting was missed in an inspection (this is a relatively old plane). There certainly are other possibilities, such as ingested debris causing an uncontained failure of the engine (see Concorde), but I feel that's the most likely.

The expectation is for perfection in air transportation. It is an unlikely goal, but we actually do pretty well given how much we fly people and stuff around the world.

According to Flightradar24, there are between 100,000 and 130,000 flights per day worldwide. This includes commercial flights, cargo, private aviation, military, and training operations.
Every day, 10 to 12 million people are airborne. At peak hours, more than 1 million passengers are in the sky at the same time. That’s like an entire major city floating above the earth.

TMI incoming. I had a haemorrhoidectomy Friday and it hurts like a mother trucker even with liberal use of pain killers :cringe:
