You see, now when he does get good marks, they won't be nearly as pleasing as they otherwise would've been.

I prefer that, over the other possibility, don't you?

Personally, if I get good marks, I'd be quite happy to live in the fantasy land of 'your HSC marks are the most important thing in your entire life'.

Don't. I've seen some fairly funny consequences of that.

Yeah, letting people down gradually instead of letting them fall is good, but bursting bubbles ain't particularly pleasant either. Guess it depends which one happens.

Its better to fall from small heights than to topple from high ones. Whatever the result is the negative consequences of getting bad marks would, considering the circumstances, be significantly worse than the obverse.

We had a small fight that got blown up into a huge argument.

:( don't leave me, girl. Please.

I hate college applications!!! [pissed]

People fail at choosing the right thread. The threads themselves fail too.

Good stuff belongs in the other thread. Only things that destroy your spirit are allowed here.

:(

Rant: There are far too many haterz on this site. It's astonishing how easily they rip your spirit in millions of pieces, leaving you tear-eyed and with a sense of worthlessness in yourself. Just with simple words...

:mischief:

Is that drinking and buying alcohol period or just buying alcohol? (above some form of alcohol percentage limit)

I used to hate it, but now that Im 21 I can rub it in the faces of kids like you :p

You cannot buy, posses, or drink alcohol if you are under 21.

You cannot buy, posses, or drink alcohol if you are under 21.

In Sweden, you're allowed to buy "folköl" (drinks containing between 2,25 % and 3,5 % alcohol) from groceries and stuff if you're 18. When you're 20, you get to buy some of the stronger stuff from the state-monopoly "Systembolaget".

In Denmark, you're allowed to buy anything when age 16, and shopkeepers sell it to 13-year-olds anyways.

Just do what I did and apply to only one school.

5 of my 6 schools are Common app schools but its still annoying :(

Squarg is using a custom-user title I coined

I can't decide if this is a rant or rave

No, you cannot buy and posess alcohol if you're under 21, but you are allowed to drink it. The first part pretty much means that its only legal as long as your guardians give it to you at home though. Still, its an important distinction.

Well, I've done all I can. I can't figure out where I am off by about $200 for my accounting project.

Everything balances darnit!
I just hope my professor won't take too many points off because of that. Ugh. Somehow I think it had to do with me interpreting one of the transactions as a payment on account instead of a cash payment (or vice-versa). But I don't know which one. It could be something else entirely.
