Mixed with ibproprufen or paracetamol. It's "behind the counter" but doesn't require a prescription so a mere formality.

Sorry to crap on about Bali (I'm a tad obsessed at the moment) but a visit to the "apotek" is quite funny there. Ask for codeine/Valium etc and they'll ask if you have a prescription....the only difference is there are two different prices, with and without.

Here, codeine is strictly controlled and you have to get a non-refillable scrip from a doctor for it. Does Australia follow Central/South American controlled substance laws? (you just go to a pharmacist and ask for anything)

Codeine, imo, should be strictly controlled. It's an opiate. 3-methylmorphine: an isomer of methylated morphine.

And, let me tell you, it's quite powerfully addictive.

No it's strict. If the law requires a script then you are not gonna get anything without one (scamming a script is another story altogether)
