Does getting soaked by rain and eating meat fried in batter help?

I'm asking for a friend.

Two of my misheard lyrics got featured on the radio and the hosts were joking about whether I could hear any song properly.

Homeboy whacking at these deadline fires like he's back in August 2018 in the bush of BC.

But also: I'm no longer in deadline hell. Procrastination wins again! Clearly I'm onto something with this definitely sustainable practice.

This has been and will continue to be my model forever.

After many internal struggles.. and hours searching for an acceptable flight

I am flying to Vietnam for 3 weeks! Into Hanoi and out of Ho Chi Minh City. What happens in between.. i'm not sure yet

It will always be Saigon for me. I am still only in Saigon.

Turns out I really can't

Take a random song I heard off the radio and thought interesting enough to look up online, The Age of Electric's Remote Control. Here's the actual lyrics:
The difference between us
Is negative one,
The math is simple
Subtract attractive opposites
Open, my bottle fizzing
You shake me out
Now implode,
This hollow body interior
Kingpin crumbles
Fade, fade, fade, fade

Here's what I heard, though.

The difference between us
Is nagging in [???]
The map is simple
So drop the tractor [???]
Off of my bottom pheasant
You shape me up
It's all about the interior
Keep 'em coming
Bye, bye, bye, bye

Do you ever have "intestinal" issues when you go to Asia?

To be fair, though: your version makes about as much sense as the originals... ;)

I thought the song had something to do with an overreliance on technology and a return to nature, because of the pheasants and maps and such. I have no idea what it's actually about.

Have you had your hearing tested, aimee? In my family Parkinson's is usually coupled with hearing loss for some reason.

No, though I guess I should see if I can get referred for it.

Nope, I take all the precautions and have not had a problem yet. Ate lots of streetfood in Thailand and Cambodia and was fine. So far so good *bangs items against wood*

You may have missed it but @warpus landed on the front page of reddit with tens of thousands of upvotes hilarilously explaining some intestinal issues he had all over some rocks in the Himalayas.

Lol yeah that was a great if not sunday afternoon friendly story. That happened due to me chugging a whole pack of emergen-c vitamin c pack all at once in the morning. and apparently vitamin c is a laxative...

What on earth did you need that much vitamin c for?

Most likely it is not hearing loss and instead an auditory processing disorder. I have one myself and unless the singing is clear, my ability to understand lyrics is close to nonexistent. It also makes it difficult to understand people over the phone because of the garbled call quality. In a loud bar/club/whatever? Consider me deaf to words.

It's interesting as a lot of people with this disorder have really good hearing. They can distinguish between different sounds, can often hear more frequencies, can often hear things sooner than others, etc. But once you start layering sounds, the ability to parse language goes kaput.

There can also sometimes be a lag delay in normal conversation. I sometimes go "What?" because someone said things to me that just sounded like alphabet soup and then a split second later my mind will process what was said and I'll reply normally.

That may very well be the case (often, in my family at least, there's some sort of overlap), but the only way to find out is to get tested.
