Random Raves 11: It's getting better all the tiiiiiiiiiiiiiime!

Manipulating people to do exactly what you want them to do is fun. >:3

The weekend has arrived!

You're not required to take the test, even if you take the course.

And you pay for college, why is it ridiculous to pay for a college course in high school?

Yup. The AP *course* is free. Individual school districts can enter into agreements with certain universities, so students can get college credit *without* taking the test.

The test is like 10% of what the equivalent college course would cost, and there are programs to subsidize the cost of the test for lower income students. If you're on a reduced lunch program, for example, the you can get 50% off your test (or even free).

You can also take the test without actually taking the course.

Not too many high schools have really extensive AP course offerings, so the average is for a college-prep track student to take 3-4 in their HS career (you usually can only take them your last two years). Perfection took like 20, which basically meant he tested out of 2 years of college.

Got a job bartending in the most popular nightclub in the small town of 20,000 I live in. It means I work 16 hours every saturday now, but 10 of those are almost entirely spent browsing the internet. Awesome.

Concentrating the hours over a day or so also helps my chances of claiming significant jobseekers allowance.

Getting used to this underemployment thing me. Only out of Uni a week.

I'm a sophomore and I took an AP class that was specifically made for sophomores.

Well yeah! No homework FTW!

I had a dream that I built a double-size scale model of Stonehenge out of concrete, and in the center of it placed an enormous statue of myself that was lit up with floodlights, and another giant floodlight that shone straight up into the sky.

I do believe I have finally found my purpose in life.

Looks more like a memory from a past lifetime/incarnation.... :mischief:

Are you Ulyaoth dreaming you're a fish, or a fish dreaming you're Ulyaoth?

Did a reverse-great escape thing to get into uni's graduation ball, leaped the wire fence, and got wrecked.

Spent a tenner all night on booze since I had my bottle. Considering the ticket, alcohol etc. I saved £80.
Might have met a nice lass too.

Got my first weekend done in my new job as a nightclub barman. I think I did pretty well. I don't have a clue how to make coctails though, so far I've got by by reading the menu as I make them and fudgingg the ingredients into the shaker with no regard to proportions. I then shake with the confidence necessary to make it seem like I know what I'm doing. No complaints yet. This luck will not last though.

Although I do know I screwed up one order for a Long Island Ice Tea. I gave someone full measures of each, and realised my error halfway through. In an attempt to hide it I used a bigger glass and loads of cola. Its not like the customer is going to complain about getting 5 (4?) shots for €8 anyways.

Sounds like a very successful night, but how successful really depends on your definition of "wrecked"...

Should I rant or rave about the fact New England is likely to be torn a new excretory organ due to the fact their alliance is melting, and the fact GUN - my alliance - could get involved to finally send them packing?

I say rave. Go France!

Wrecked is where you legitimately, at some point, realise you fell asleep in the street
