You're a certified bachelor? You can get an official degree in not being bound by wimminz? I'm in!

Oh boy! Tak, do you really need a degree to keep women away?

Buuuuuuuuurn!

Seriously, though, what's up with the fires there? You okay?

Eventually the Zonda will stop blowing and we'll have a storm or two which will put out the fires (which are a long way away, Argentina is a big country) and then flood whatever flatlands are downriver.

I don't need a degree to keep out the wimminz, but then I'm a talented amateur. You gotta respect the pros.

I took a little too much joy in writing a horror story. Great distraction for a lazy morning post-meeting.

Good. Bring tuitions down, endowments UP!

Edit: have a gnarly rave about an 80 year old Cuban Communist architect but I'll catch up with it tommorrow.

As it just so happened, I worked in a QA lab for a brewery. I suppose you guys aren't hiring now, are you? :mischief:

Saw a lecture by Eusebio Leal, world famoys Cuban architect and historian at the Columbia School of Architectural Preservation and Protection.

Fantastic. His Powerpoint had 16th Century drawings of Old Havana and they are restoring some historic buildings there. Read the Granma article I linked above.

And yes, he is a Communist.

Thesis work? :p

It was a surprise meeting with my collaborators, half of whom decided not to show up.

It was kind of funny because the one associate professor who did show up sent an email around to ask why nobody else was showing up, explicitly labeling himself, myself, and one other person from our side who bothered come to the meeting. I then get a panicked message from my adviser asking whether or not I attend the meetings (to which I replied, yes, and I presented a bunch of stuff too).

So, score. Looking good in front of all those other slackers. :)

nono, I mean the horror story IS your thesis

jokes are always reach optimal humour when explaining a second time!~~~

Sorry for potato quality, iPods aren't know for their pictoral prowess

While I was waiting outside school yesterday after the school day ended, a bolt of lightning struck the one building just past the tree line that marks the boundary of my high school campus, less than 100 feet away. Sadly, I had my back turned and couldn't see the actual bolt strike, but it was still a fun experience.
