I'm the kind of guy who gets a pair of shoes and then wears them until the soles are basically gone and then gets another pair of shoes and...

That cycle has stopped in recent months because now I have a pair of work shoes that don't get much exercise (I bike to work, not walk), and a pair of hiking boots that I wear for all shoe-related purposes outside work. If a situation calls for neither my work shoes or my hiking boots I wear flip flops.

Lemon does't buy shoes, she buys torture devices. /shudders
Actually, I theorise that they're supposed to be anti-theft measures.
Also, rave: Mary is into Zelda cosplaying.

I have too many shoes. I must have about a dozen pairs, plus dozens more of assorted pairs of shoes from many years ago that I never got rid of in spite of varying levels of decrepitude.

Oh dear, do I look like Zelda? I'm supposed to be Daenerys Targaryen lol. (I paid like $250 for my costume and wig)

I don't know about yours, but mine have so many friends that they are chattering all the time.
I desperately want to see your collection ... I shared mine!

My rave ... in about 45 minutes I'm going to drive to my fiance's place, he lives about 50 minutes away. He gets off work at about 10 pm, but I want to give him some time, and this is a total surprise. This is my first time doing something like this, and I hope he reacts well ... I have definite intentions lol.

Well, I am not a GoT fan, so the closest I associated it with was some Zelda cosplayers.

Weren't you saving yourself for marriage? :shifty:

Hmmm, rave. Meat. mustard. Ketchup. Fried egg. Flatbread. Quick impromptu explosion of taste, perfect for Caturday night. :yumyum:

You kept the same shoes for 4 years? Holy cow mine last maybe 6 months.

I have sneakers that I bought literally 9 years ago in India and still wear them occasionally. straight from the factory, they cost barely anything. the model isn't even sold in Europe nor the US, sadly, it's one of my favorites. Also another pair of Nicolas Andreas Taralis boots that sold for 1300$ retail that I bought for about 150$, barely worn. Lasted me about 7.5 years so far with almost no wear and tear.

Ooooh shoes talk? Does @Lemon Merchant know?

I bought four new pair this year, all in the front row of my photograph. I get myself new flip flops every year, I just find they don't last, and I love my Clarks ballet flats I got. My favorite new pair are my Sketchers netting sandals, you feel like you're not even wearing anything. I had a nice pair of Clarks athletic/walking sandals I had for about four years that I absolutely loved, but sadly I had to toss those this year as I'd just worn them out.

My boots I've had for about nine years now, and some of my heeled dress sandals even longer, but I wear those infrequently. My dress shoes (next to my boots) I've had about five years, but I only really ever wear those to work when I have executives visiting or something. I had another pair of tennis shoes, but I permanently damaged those while trying to do my lawn mowing, and these ones I've had about six years.

only two pairs of closed shoes? hardly a collection :smug:  :smug:

I think I probably have more sneakers than you do shoes

I have befriended some shoe people. Their need for "something new" leads to them having shoes they consider "old" that are perfectly good for my purposes. I haven't bought shoes in years, other than a pair of dress shoes I had to buy when I needed a suit for a wedding.

Then they're not shoe people, they're fast-fashion hamster people. A shoe person doesn't throw away shoes for no reason, a shoe person gets their shoes fixed! :nono:

My shoe collection.

the two pairs of boots on the right are noice

My dad has had his current pair of hiking/work boots for more than forty years now.

do you know what year this is?

That's easy, it's [current year]

How? Most of the boots in my pic were worn to the point they should be tossed out. And even well past that. I wear out 3 pair of boots a year.

You destroy 3 pair of boots annually? You should really look into Redwings or similar upscale high-quality long-warranty boots.

Here's my collection, minus my boots

Well, yeah, fast-fashion hamster people. I can go with that part, but, seriously, who gets sneakers fixed?

My shoes for the past 8 years; left to right newest to oldest. Other than the sandals, they are all Merrills.
