Wheeeee!!!

Link to video.
Perfect for 3:00 a.m. in stifling heat. The wonders of wiki walk while navegating Byzantine online inscription forms.

Law and Order game came out today, you even get to play as a DA, and it runs on Mac!

Day three!

Also managed to take a three hour walk last night without limping or facing overly terrible consequences.

I'm liking these circumstances.

My mom got my grandma's car (A 2008 Ford Fusion), and this means my mom's car is now mine :D :woohoo:

I was going through some stuff and I found this ... interesting constellation

LOL

I was playing a new start in AGEod's American Civil War as the Union, had a Confederate army sneak up the Shenandoah in November of 1861 and make a sharp turn eastwards to attack Baltimore and Washington DC. Spent tons of rail capacity, forced-march some troops, etc. to get a force in the area (and got lucky I had men on ships that could be re-routed!), and proceeded to fight a nail-biting and very cold December month outside of Baltimore.

Union losses around 11,000, Confederates around 21,000 and over 8,000 survivors captured. It was a glorious victory to start off 1862!

And good grief, this AI can be capable of the most unexpectedly brilliant moves...

I'm sure half of those traitor deaths were due to Baltimore itself. ick.

Might have been.

I was concerned because I think if the Confederates took Baltimore, they could get a bunch of Maryland volunteers in my back rank. I checked over the game logs for the month, they had severe supply problems (didn't bring enough baggage trains) exacerbated by the snow, and their retreat was blocked because I had recruited tons of militia when they started this maneuver and placed them in neighboring towns. Since they didn't stop to siege them and establish military control, they had no retreat path, and so the ridiculous number of retreat rolls made by PGT Beauregard all failed. Had there been neighboring Confederate territory, he would have slipped away after a few thousand casualties.

Can't wait to play tonight. I got a lot of planning to do to set up the strategy for next year, but now it looks possible to add a swift march on Fredericksburg to the list of planned operations in the Spring.

Rave: I feel like everything is going my way. Yesterday, I released a major project I had been working on for a month or so, and I've been making great progress on another project. For the first time in weeks, I don't have any important work loads on my lap to deal with. Now I get to sit back and relax until February 5. :goodjob:

Just about now, the IRS should be calling at your door about five cents you owe in taxes from about three years ago. :p

This is funny:

What is the best advice you have ever received?
DON'T GIVE ADVICE TO ANYONE. The worst advice? Answer these questions.
