That's of course very sci fi - and highly disturbing - but I don't see anything that would prevent us from breaching the gap eventually.

And also when it doesn't change; the sort of people who get upset by neologisms are with an almost 1:1 ratio the same sort of people get upset by the survival of traditional dialects, or even entire languages. Failing to adopt a novel but "correct" language is as much an offense as straying from it.As long as there has been language, it has been changing. And as long as there has been humans, they have complained about it.
