Feta cheese is the best greek invention. By far. Democracy deshmocracy.

Not all cheese singles are created equal. Kraft singles are made with real milk, they need to be refrigerated, they are real cheese, just processed cheese. But I greatly prefer how processed cheese melts. For grilled cheese they are great. For dips Velveeta cheese is great. Other cheese is grainy when it melts. Not melted I think american cheese flavor is too strong though so I won't use it. I like a mild cheddar or white cheddar or muenster. Even on Italian sandwiches I find provolone kind of bland so I like muenster.

For real cheese slices generally block is better and then slice your own off. Prepackaged slices usually have anti caking agents on them. Same thing with pre shredded cheese. Shredding your own is a little work but a much better product, even within the exact same brands. There's like cellulose powder or something in the bags to keep it from sticking together, and it maybe doesn't change the flavor but definitely affects the texture.

Cheese. I really like just grating some mozzarella and eating it by hand. I like grilled cheeses. I like feta cheese on pretty much any salad and on pizza as well. I like muenster, cheddar, anything on a sandwich. American cheese is alright but I don't like the Kraft singles. Favorite cheese on a burger is undoubtedly pepper jack.

I like this stuff but it's a bit expensive so I only get two little wedges of it once a month.

Provolone is kind of bland, but it's still delicious cheese. Certainly a go-to for sandwich cheeses if my favorite Muenster is not available.

Processed slices are the best for grilled cheese unless you're making something with more ingredients. Havarti's great when combined with tomato, ham, and egg.

Remove the cheese and that purple stuff and I'd happily eat the rest.

Which purple stuff? The beetroot or the cabbage-like stuff?

Not a clue.

Ah well, I thought maybe you'd know. Reading about each one there are a lot of common words in the descriptions, but words about tastes are frequently...stupid. If I run into some Oka I'll try it and let you know.

I see red onion, and I think olives though I guess beetroot is...possible... Cabbage?

I suppose they could be aubergines. I'll bow to your superior recognition of red onion.

It's a classic Greek salad so it'll be cucumber, tomato, red onion, olives, feta cheese, olive oil and pepper. :yumyum:

Of course it is onions... :)
And olives, tomatoes, (olive) oil, cheese. Oregano (or maybe pepper in this one; likely) is what the feta there has on it.

The green one is cucumber - i personally don't like it, but it is common in this kind of salad.

Wrote this before seeing Snerk already providing the correct answer. You people should listen to Snerk :yup:
