There's something cute about the way the description admits to the painting being based on guesswork

Those pictures that you posted, Samson, do look as if somebody had heard or read a description without much detail and had then drawn a picture that meets those specific criteria. E.g. the hippopotamus has tusks, a tail and a weird snout.

It's a lot like some of the downright weird results I got from trying to feed lines to an image-generating artificial ‘intelligence’ about two weeks ago.

isn't that supposed to come with pictures of mud huts in Africa to compare ?

Le Corbusier—Master of Wokeness!

Obviously, kneeling football players traveled back in time and stopped all classical European architecture. What madness!

I hear the Bezos-Musk feud is heating up.

I will settle this contingent upon the amount of money received. Whoever gives me the most wins! My appreciation is something money can’t buy.

It might be the painkillers from a visit to the dentist, but I just read that as ‘whoever gives me the most twins’.

Okay, I has a bemoozment.

I bought a plush African penguin today (the species with the pink markings around the eyes). Someone in the store said that since I like penguins, I must be from the East Coast (ie. the Maritimes). They don't have penguins in the wild there.

I said no, so he said I must be from the West Coast (ie. Vancouver). They don't have penguins in the wild there, either.

I said no, I was born right here in Red Deer (which is nowhere near any coast; Alberta is landlocked). I just like penguins.

Then both the clerk and I realized that he was just really confused as to where penguins come from. Southern hemisphere, in the wild, zoos in the northern hemisphere. And he was one of the people running the store!

Hmmm. He might have mixed them up with puffins.

This was in a store that sells plush toys, both the cartoony kind and the realistic-looking kind. Most of the penguins in my collection are the realistic-looking kind, and so are most of the other animals. I've got a couple of whales, a puffin, some dogs, and a bunch of pet rocks that are painted to look like cats. There are some others - teddy bears, of course, a tuxedo cat, some rabbits, and a purple dragon. Those are part of my Fuzzy Knights collection.

No polar bears at all, unless you count the cookie tin the Penguin Place sent by mistake - that has a lamentable scene of a penguin, an igloo, and a polar bear. That sort of thing is godawful annoying.
