And Obama has NOT closed the borders. That means that the problem will NOT be solved. Also he is NOT deporting 'harmless' Juan and his wife and five kids.Obama allows them to stay.
That isnt what I want to see.
OK, I'm against illegal immigration, probably not as strongly as you are, but I am against it.
You aren't making our case here.
The problem is that people are working off the books. That means lower wages and inferior working conditions, which means lawful citizens can't compete, and it means no taxes being paid, which means that these people are mooching off the honest citizens who pay taxes (Since they certainly use some government resources, everyone uses some.)
That is the reason illegal immigration is harmful. With legal immigrants, at least they function under the same rules, and pay the same taxes, as the rest of us, and compete on the same terms. That's why I don't have a problem with legal immigration but I do have a problem with illegal immigration.
Just saying "Harmless man and his wife and five kids" is actually making a debatable but fairly reasonable position look crappy and heartless. I'd recommend against doing it.
Oh, and for the record, I support deportation too even. I don't support draconian measures to implement it, I don't support the kind of profiling that's going on in Arizona in order to stop it, since it also affects lawful citizens (I don't consider traffic infractors criminals, and this is a discernable shift from my position a year ago) but if you do catch an illegal immigrant somehow, he should be deported, and businesses should face heavy fines if they hire illegal immigrants knowingly.
But you aren't making the position sound very reasonable.
EDIT:
I hate to side with Cutlass

But he's not even saying you are wrong here. Based on what I know of him, I tend to think he'd disagree with you, but he hasn't said such in this thread.
All he's arguing is that its not Obama's fault. I actually somewhat disagree, the fact that he can't catch all of them obviously isn't his fault, but the cheap political manipulation that was amnesty right before the election is Obama's fault and he deserves to get called out for it.
But he's not actually saying you don't have a right to feel the way you do.
