This should come in handy.

fahstats

It gives a list of active members, our team, production in 24 hours, 7 days, and total. It is a good way to gauge how far we will rise in the rankings.

Yes, but the whole idea is for it to not sit till I get a connection again since that might take a few days.
It's okay if it takes a few days, just make sure to check the option for deadlineless WUs so you don't miss any deadlines while you're offline. And I think there is some kind of option for downloading WUs in batches, but I can't look into it right now. Look around for it.

Yeah, I chose the deadlineless option and the download in batches one. Hopefully it'll work. :)

Btw, can I install the program of two different machines under the same username and the same group? Should there be some conflicts problems?

Yes, you can, with no conflicts. I have at least a dozen machines using the same username and group/team.

Thanks for the link. I can't believe i only got 46 points for the last WU. Took me a week to complete the damn thing.

Has anyone spotted a link to where you can see the codon or amino acid sequence for the proteins we're crunching? I start recognising random ones but it moves and folds before I can get anywhere near the actual sequence.

I haven't, but I haven't been looking very hard.

And :goodjob: to all the newcomers, that are starting to show up with completed work units.

We are closing in on the top 2000! :D
(If anybody is willing to cover the energy costs, i could put an old 900Mhz laptop to work ;P)

What would the energy costs be? I'd think a dime a day or so.

I'm installing F@H on a few computers at school (we only have a few and we're not sure they can all bear the load), not under our group for now but nonetheless on F@H. Sadly though we can't leave them on after school hours so I don't know how much they'll pump out.

Cool!

Just make sure they're running deadlineless work units, or they'll probably not contribute anything except heat to the room they're in.

I currently have my main laptop not connected to the internet, what files could i swap between computers in order to give my laptops completed files back and obtain new ones?

I couldn't find any specifications on the Laptop itself, but after some trial and error it booted with the transformer running at 13,5V and 3500mA. That would mean the laptop has at most about 43,2Watt, right?
Then it'd be ~0.18€/day. I have to find the specs for my current hardware router and see how they compare. I wanted to replace the router anyway, maybe i can put the laptop in its stead.

It is apparently called "sneakernetting", they've got a rundown here: http://fahwiki.net/index.php/Sneakernetting

By the way, is it important to label the different PCs running under a single username with different CPU numbers? (Only hooked up one comp at school so far, and I'd like to make sure that I don't screw up when I keep going.)

No, that's only for multiple CPUs in one box.

Well the laptop is hooked up now. If i stop posting here, it'll be because i had to sell my last shirt to further the cause of science. ;)

On a more serious note, does anybody know how to turn off the display of a note book? I tried the "energy saving" settings, but didn't find anything.

You should use the exact same username (it is case-sensitive) and team number for all your PCs. The different CPU numbers (when it installs, it asks for one between 1-8, right?) only matter if you're installing more than one client on the same physical box, so unless you've got a dual-processor machine or are putting graphical and console clients on the same PC, you can choose '1' for every PC.

If it is 2000 or XP, right-click on the screen somewhere and hit Properties, bringing up Display Properties, select the Screensaver tab, and click on the Power button down near the bottom of the window.
