I have looked and looked at this and can't see the problem. The icon is there and the XML (units/build infos) is pointing to it but it is showing pink. Can you have a look an see what it is that I have done wrong?

What is pink? The Special Stone Workshop button looks fine to me.
However here is the button again.

Further to the Pink Button - sometimes it is fine. I think what has happened is that I accidentally got rid of the earlier one.
It wasn't repeatable, so no, don't know why I uploaded a save; was tired.
Hi, i found a weird bug in diplomacy: Every civ except my vassal has a modifier "+2904: We are worried about our rivals being vassals to your empire" making everyone extremely happy with me whatever i do.
Visible by mousing-over the happy face in the civ list or when doing negotiations.

It sounds like the game runs out of memory because that was what happened when i loaded your last save but to be sure attach the save.
No problem because as i wrote before i also had the same CTD in one of my games and i saw another minidump with that crash, this suggests that there might be a error in the code.

This save file has 4 bugged city's in it. One Greek, One Babylon, Two Japan. All next to each other.
They have erroneous food, gold, science and culture.
Also this save file shows the bug molodets has as well.
Just making barbs take the city's and then making the AI take it back fixes it. But how did this happen it the first place?

1) No. Sparth did a new one because that one does not work in the pedia.

Your system specs were pretty outdated. Are you using the 3GB switch? I'm thinking you'd probably need to... not saying I've looked into the posted save yet though.
I have an Intel i5 2500k sandy-bridge, a Radeon 6980, 16 gb of ram and 3 tb of hardspace. I honestly don't know what you mean by outdated? It plays every otergame i have perfectly just save one, this game, and it is really frustrating.

They are wrong even if Sparth tried to make a new one its appearing with the wrong graphic.
The only thing they have right are the icon/buttons.
