Single Player bugs and crashes v35 plus (SVN) - After the 18th of August 2014

I have a odd animation bug (well i guess its a bug) show moves is on but end turn and auto moves are not animated but my manual moves are.
 
It's frustrating. I get non-reproducible CTD's usually after I win a big war. I don't have any idea what is causing them.
 
I am getting lots of CTDs that appear to be graphics related. They occur when the map moves to a unit that is not on the screen. If I move to that part of the map before ending the turn of the unit before the CTD then the CTD does not happen.
 
The problem is we have not told him which ones they might be! I think some of my CTDs may have been caused by the Yourba missionaries but I don't know if it was the male or female one; and it may have been a totally different one on that screen which included all the units I was amassing to build my next 5 cities when I got Despotism, ie 5 each of city guard, archer, story teller, early merchant, merchant, subdued eagle, hawk, big cat, bear, plus 10 snakes, 10 dogs, 10 birds and so on.

DH an explanation of the reasons for building these units, prior to city building would be greatly appreciated. I can understand some - but why the animals?.

Pets, Menageries, Carnivals and cages (bears, cats, wolves,and birds at a minimum, with marsupial, lizard and exotic if I have spare), plus the myths and animal buildings that give money and espionage. 5 eagles for the phoenix myth, 5 minotor lizards for dragon myth, 5 spare birds for feather worker, 5 hawks for falconer hut.

There are only 5 merchant units hence my expansion by 5 cities at a time.

Mostly it is to help get the culture up as I play with Realistic Culture spread, but the money helps also:D.

I can only do such expansion for a short while, ie while I have enough money to support so many subdued animals to when I run out of animals to subdue.:D

bug Canaanaism first to discover icon is missing. Remember there are two tech icons for every religion one for when it is not yet founded and one for after it has been founded. This is not as important in C2C as in other mods where a religion is not founded on normal techs. In that case the religion icon is displayed for the tech up until it is founded then the normal tech icon is displayed after.

I'll see if I can find and restore it.

Well... there's definitely some art problem taking place with the Camel Rider!
 
I have found the problem where the Barbarians were building Cultural heroes. It says they can in the definition of the Barbarian civilization. Same for Cultural units.


IMO This means that the barbarians are even less likely to attack as they are a nation and will strive to build up their cities, joining them up and getting an economy.

The barbarians need to be changed back to being barbarians! This can wait until v36.

I'm glad you found something that may help us control the cultural and hero units.

As for the thinking that the barb cities are trying to enhance their economy, it's really not part of their AI thinking routine. However, they MAY try to enhance trade with buildings as anything that will help with production so they can build more units tends to be very important for barb cities. Since trade can help with production now that could explain some of the odd choices.

I can no longer commit to the SVN! I just upgraded to the latest SVN code version and can get updates from our SVN but it fails when ever I try and commit.

I did have an error when I upgraded to the new SVN code but did a repair. Maybe I need to do a full reinstall.

The problem I'm having is apparently 'art related' (by our best guess) and its hard to say what it would be really but when you build a camel rider, the UI interface doesn't work. That place where actions and promotions come up? It always takes on the UI interface of the last unit selected, not one for the camel rider itself. The AI camel riders are unhindered by this problem - only the player can't use them. This also causes an immediate OOS error.

It might be coding somewhere or bad xml somewhere. Who knows? I only know that it only seems to be impacting the camel rider. Is there some kind of unique python that applies to this unit like a special action or something that no other unit gets?
