Single Player bugs and crashes v35 plus (SVN) - After the 18th of August 2014

In addition to there being two Mosaic Working sound files, it seems that my Surveying quote has also gone to the great Audacity in the sky. I've reattached it below.

Ok both audio quotes brings back.

There is a worker interface bug that really drives me mad, just about when Explosives is tech-ed.

When a worker is given the option to improve an existing improvement by building over the old (e.g. Mine to Shaft Mine, Lumber Camp to Lumber Mill), when the job is done, the worker is given the option to build over the up to date improvement with the old, like Mine over a Shaft mine or a Lumber Camp over Lumber Mill.

The issue really becomes problematic when the improvements share the same icon, like for the mines; lumber related improvements all have different icons so it's easy to forgive the issue

Cheers!

The displayed Mountaineering quote does not match the audio-quote. The Machu Picchu improvement shows up as a pink square.

"Tradition - Work Ethic" is a city effect, which should appear in the Properties section (unless I'm very much mistaken). In my case, it only appears in the city properties of the founding city.

Not a city effect. It is a building that gives a free promotion to worker units. Not sure if I made it a pseudo National Wonder or a normal National wonder, it should be the latter. I'll check.

edit "Tradition - Work Ethic" is a National Wonder. It provides a free building "Effect - Tradition - Work Ethic" in every city which applies the promotion to worker units built in the city or which end there turn there.

I'll take a look for it then.

The AI civs are still massively over-producing siege weaponry. No civ needs 40 siege towers in a single stack in the late Mediaeval era, let alone accompanying trebuchets and battering rams and they certainly shouldn't be accompanied by dozens of healers and only a few actual melee troops. (Terrain damage is off, but I don't know what is causing the massive siege spam.)

Re: the above, once I knew I was looking for an effect and not a tradition, I found it easily enough, but that's not very intuitive.

It is done in exactly the same way as Realism Invictus where we pinched/recycled the idea from. They have about 20 Traditions and Doctrines. At one stage the promotions were just merged into C2C from RI but that just meant that the normal promotions were now useless. Most have been removed again and we will be adding in a lot more. The main problem is that I don't do combat much so don't understand the combat mechanisms.

This is still some of T-brds AI work in progress. The "weight" given to Seige is still a bit high obviously. But you also have Toffer now making adjustments to some of that area. Perhaps a conversation with toffer might be in order to see if he can see a problem or make adjustments to the seige part of the AI for combat (attacking and defending). It used to be a simple AI Weight, but I don't think that is used much anymore in C2C.

As attached, nothing really should be happening of great note on the next turn.

Here is your save played on SVN 8587. I played 2 turns with no problems at all.

I've been having a lot of CTDs and it appears to be attached to missing animal info. I've only noticed it to happen with the Tapir (mountain specifically) and the Ground Sloth. In the attached saved game, when mousing over the tapir next to my wanderer, you get no information on it. It has had some damage battling me but it doesn't show up. When you advance to the next turn it crashes. SVN 8593

Less than a turn after updating to 8573, this:

There's no getting past it, every time you click OK it comes up again (or possibly it ignores me, hard to tell...).:(

So what do you need?

I tried 8593 and the same thing happens. It is nothing to do with upgrading units, and clicking constantly on OK for two minutes does not get past it.

The error is not in 8508, ergo recently introduced.

@DH: You said you've had the same problem (although in your case it was to do with upgrading units), so I presume you've looked for the cause. So no luck?

The line in the code seems to be about unit graphics, so could it be just another way graphics problems manifest?

I may be confusing two differing errors.

I am getting the CtD with the Mountain Tapir but I have not changed anything there for a couple of months.@Sparth has anything changed with the art? It was moved into the FPKs, was something missed or lost when that was done. So far it has only happened to me if the Mountain Tapir is facing north and my tracker facing south. I have had no problem with the Ground Sloth.

There are some graphic oddities with some of the mounted units. For example, if the bison rider is facing away from you, as his spear rotates it disappears in 1 of the 4 rotation phases. Doesn't hurt anything just an oddity.

I know whats wrong and will fix it sooner or later. Thanks for letting me know. ;)

Nothing serious, just an animation glitch.

While we're on the subject, the horseman attacks with the wrong end of his spear, and the camel rider uses his spear in a chopping or beating motion ie. as if it were an axe or club

Yep I know this. Previous weapon of this unit was Scimitar and its not fit to this unit. Then I changed his weapon to spear but animation stays, because I dont know how to change it.

If vanilla bts have a mounted lancer I could make a bone transplant there; other-vice I will have to make new animations for it.

You can take animation from Charlemagne Light/Heavy Cavalry, Persian Immortal or from Carthaginian Numidian Cavalry.
