Single Player bugs and crashes v37 plus (SVN) - After the 24th of December 2016

@Joe, you MAY have a corrupted local version too. This has happened to most of us at some point for whatever mysterious reasons. It's possible you may need a fresh checkout.

Already posted this, but screenshot proves it: the AI ridiculously overvalues workers and other units in trade. See attached screenshot where an AI contacted me to offer to buy an Elephant worker (production cost 675 hammers and/or food) for 11,137 money. Deity/nightmare/large map/snail.

If you mass-produce workers you can buy techs much faster than you can research yourself, as long as there is somebody willing to trade. This completely ruins the difficulty level. So for now I play with the house rule of no selling units to the AI. Thus, I declined this offer.

Koshling knew how to manipulate this. I have no idea. I'll try to look into it before a next version release at least. In the meantime, my deepest suggestion is to stop playing with tech trading. It's one of the worst options in civ history.

I don't see how Tech trading has anything to do with this problem T-brd. This is all part of Afforess' Advanced Diplomacy Modmod afaik.

Civ IV Steam version, updated
C2C SVN 9634
I reached Industrialism and I can't build Tengri shamans any more. The Shaman's Yurta is no longer functioning. My Religion civic is Free Church which should allow me to build missionaries even without monasteries (but for certain religions, like Druidism and Shamanism, this has never been true).

Also I haven't been able to trade maps ever, even though BUG/Diplomacy/Can Trade Maps is selected and has always been selected.

If there is anything I can provide to help I'll be happy to do so.

Well... it doesn't directly. But the big imbalance as stated becomes then translating that gold gain into tech gain with tech trading.

Somewhere in the coding the translation of unit cost to gold value for the purposes of trading must be taking place and is likely off by a factor of 10 at least. At least for the units as they are priced now.

There is nothing that makes that building obsolete. Are you using a C2C mod?

Known bug that I never got to by the looks of things. It is probably the case for most of the AAranda religions and later.

My wild guess is that some resource producing building went obsolete and you didn't build an Industrial Era replacement. Check the bonus requirements for Shaman's Yurta and make sure you have them all.

It seems like properties like to leak into space terrain even if this means breaking physics :p
Heres source of pollution:

And here we can see distant space getting polluted by Earthly volcano. Is this some sort of sign? :mischief:

I guess I could make X axis not wrappable.

Bug: AI much more willing to trade techs right after loading a saved game.

I see this regularly. I load a saved game, and all the AI's are willing to trade many techs. I play one turn, and the AI's are no longer willing to trade the techs. Hovering over the specific techs, now in the "won't trade column", it says "we are not willing to start trading away this technology just yet".

I wonder if this is a caching problem?

That was it. In case anyone has the same problem, the resource in question is leather.

Thank you for pointing me to the right direction.

No.

Thank you all for your attention.

I still can't trade maps and that's a head-scratcher for me.

In Industrial Era, yeah that is strange. Do the AI show in the Diplomacy screen the ability to Trade them? In other words are they listed? And if so are they colored in Red? Or in white?

Also makes me wonder if a BUG setting is turned Off. You do know how to access the BUG Screens don't you?

I have never been able to trade maps, they just do not appear on the Diplomacy window, not even in red. But I can trade (and in fact I have traded) units, gold, gold per turn, right of passage, open border, resources, anything that I remember of, really.

I remember I could trade maps with a previous version.

In my BUG -> Diplomacy tab, everything is selected except Can Establish Alliance.

:hmm: Do you still have that older version of C2C in the BtS/Mods folder as well as this newer one?

And what version was the older one?

Could be a cache issue here.

I think it was you who, in another thread, pointed me to the downloadable archive for SVN 9634. I downloaded it, made sure the game was not running, went to my mods folder, renamed Caveman2Cosmos to "old-Caveman2Cosmos", then created a new Caveman2Cosmos folder and extracted the contents of the 7z archive into that folder.

I could not properly continue my previous game, which was having heavy crime problems; while it seemed to work fine, it went from AD 1000 to AD 100,000 in the next turn. So I ditched it, deleted the save game files, and started a new game, this one.

(however I kept the "old-Caveman2Cosmos" folder, just 'cause)

Through the Worldbuilder -> Game Data, these are the Game options that are marked as selected:

Spoiler Game options :

- Unrestricted Leaders
- Choose Religions
- No Random Events
- No Revolutions
- Usable Mountains
- Surround and Destroy
- Advanced Diplomacy
- Unlimited Wonders
- Barbarian Generals
- No Zones of Control
- Assimilation
- Personalized Map
- Advanced Economy
- Realistic Culture Spread
- Larger Cities without Metropolitan Administration
- United Nations
- Advanced Espionage
- Advanced Nukes
- Divine Prophets
- No city limits from civics
- Infinite XP
- Unlimited National Units
- No Negative Traits
- More Rivers
- Assigned Specialists XP
- Ecological Animals
- Teleport Hunting Awards
- Animals Stay Out!

Let me know if you need more information.

EDIT: forgot to mention, I did clean the cache.

Try taking the "oldCaveman2Cosmos" folder out of the BtS/Mods Folder and save it outside the game's directory. Then clear the cache a 2nd time. (remove all files located inside the cache folder)

I don't know/remember your OS but the cache to clear for using win 10 64 is located here: C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\My Games\Beyond the Sword\cache . Win 7 is in a similar location and I think win 8 as well.

Then when starting the game save, after it loads do a Re-Calc, Ctrl/left shift/T. Let it do it's thing and then play the turn. After the turn is over (allows base modifiers to be reset) check the Diplomacy screen and see if map trading is now there. If not, then I'm stumped.

In order:
- Turned on PC (yes, Win10 x64)
- Cleared Cache
- Moved "old-Caveman2Cosmos" onto Desktop
- Waited for Steam to load ;-)
- Opened CivIV
- Single Player -> Load Game -> my savegame -> "We'll load the mod and restart, okay?" -> Ok
- Game loaded
- LCtrl + LShift + T
- Took about 200-240 seconds to complete (I am at turn 1177)
- I already was at the end of my turn (that's when I save each turn to avoid surprises) so I just pressed Space
- About 30 more seconds for end-of-turn calculations
- As luck would have it, right at the beginning of the turn an AI asked me to build an embassy. I clicked on "Care to negotiate?" and removed the Embassy thing. The AI screen has: Gold, Gold per Turn, Right of Passage, Resources, Stop Trading With, Adopt, Convert, Establish Embassy. My own side also has Technology, City and Trade Corporation. No World Map anywhere.
- Tried different AI's, no luck.

I guess you're stumped?

Would it help if I made my save game available?

Thank you for your help and have a nice day.

Map Trading is supposed to become available at the tech Map Making. It is the only tech with the tag set to true.

If what you say is correct, then that might be the problem. I don't have Map Making.
