Single Player bugs and crashes v38 plus (SVN) - After the 20th of February 2018

I'm playing SVN-9943 and am not able to build a work boat. After Fishing it wasn't available and I now have Sailing and its still not available. I can build the raft, canoe, and outrigger but no work boat.
 
I started a game v38 1
Building the apost. Palace by me . There are no elections. Isthis a known bug?
The same for un and vienna ?

How much play time did you give the game After you built Apostolic Palace for an election to occur? And do you have a State religion?

Yes, Fishing requires that Spearfishing be researched first.

Question, how long have you been using the SVN? All of v37 and into v38 now? Or just recently?

If just recently, were you only using the Official releases like v37?

Reason for asking, this sounds like a cache problem. If you have only been on the SVN a short time and was using Official releases prior, you really need to delete the contents of the cache folder found here:
C:\Users\"Username"\AppData\Local\My Games\Beyond the Sword\cache.

If you have been a long time SVN user then the cache is less likely....But it is still a good practice to clear it out after major revisions.
 
I want to emphasise that this has been going on for a good amount of time. I've had this occur a lot with captives of any variety for over a year.

Specifically, grouping them with EITHER a hunter or a military unit and then trying to kill any barbarian or animal. The military/hunter unit will decouple with the civilian unit.
It's not necessarily incorrect behavior depending on the circumstance. Those escorted types may not be able to explore, for example, and thus are ungrouped with the attacker moves in. There's some crazy complex scenarios that may not be well accounted for in the post attack move in where the unit is sent to proceed regardless of what the rest of the stack is doing. I can probably safely find those commands and stop having the stack split off for the advance movement.

It's hard to tell whether you just aren't getting any valid vote options thus when the vote comes up it isn't showing the vote, which can be heavily dependent on the game options you have set, or if there's an outright bug in the voting system that just makes it never come up. Tough to pinpoint and I've shelved all complaints on this til I have more time to spend on these kinds of 'I might be wasting my time' kinds of efforts.
 
I have noticed this ALOT lately, auto-mated workers are NOT going out and "working" i just captured a civ and NONE of the cities around them had and pastures/plantations/farms around them??? I have mine set on improve town/city worker not civ stuff . .
Whisperr pointed out some problems with workers that correlate to this report. Strange how it was working fine a while back now hardly working at all. I'll have to evaluate some saves that have this evidenced.
 
There is hurrying issue in late/end game when hurrying:
At certain stage if you hurry something you get one "Megagold"

New game started with 9934 and updated thru 9943, Peace among NPCs On, I have more animals spawning than I have had in a long long time. I have taken today and reduced the animal spawn in my personal game files to 75 from the 90 it has been for awhile. To see if this brings the spawn rate down where there are not 4-5 animals per tile when you open new hidden territory (explore and make visible).

Probably not a bad idea to commit that - if games get too many animals they can crash and we skirt that line sometimes. I don't think any of us have adjusted that since SO showed me a save that did hit this crash point. Might be a bit severe a change though... hard to say. See how it tests I guess.

I've been using SVN for a long time. I also cleared my cache folder when you were suggesting it to people in December or January?? .... sometime just recently.

Actually I find it is all the subdued animals and captives that decouple and move onto the plot with the stack of animals on it leaving the hunter behind. If there is more than one wild animal on the plot all those units will die because you can't get the hunter there to protect them.

If you can replicate that I would like the save. Might be stack attack causing that.

Okay Thanks for the info. I would suggest doing it again. It won't hurt anything whether it clears up your problem or not. But if it does then that's less work to do on tracking down the cause.
