Team Game - Isolated Pacal (Deity)

IW is about 17T away not factoring in whatever research hit the 3rd city causes. That city is probably a money loser (initially at least) so it might push IW back a couple turns. Anyway, we need the monument finished within 7 or 8 turns to be safe so that we get border pop onto gems in time for IW.

Don't forget that it takes 4T to remove the jungle before improving the gems ;)

@Izuul maybe you want to play some turns? You've been participating a lot but haven't played yet

Otherwise I could play a few turns, np

At what point do we want to start scouting further south? In the near future, we won't be settling there, but finding specific resources might change our overall strategy.

2nd settler now is a mistake I think. It gains no good tiles, the current bottleneck is commerce and there's a lack of worker turns available.
Better is 2nd worker for chopping and cottages.

I played a couple turns, trying to include all feedback and points made :)

Scouted with our woodie warrior, yup getting some more land info should be useful as dutchfire wrote.
(small risk ofc, but moving on 75% defense hills is okay and gave good view)

Built 2nd worker, Rusten is ofc right that we can use at least one more and cottages can be started now.
We will need another Axe now imo, some more chop hammers soon (i moved on this forest for central cottage position).

Not whipping Lakamba will be an option, border pop from Mutal would give us another sea tile.
We could chop monument, and pass on granary whip in favor of some more commerce.
(Mutal used only sea tiles besides corn, copper & pigs during those turns)

Nice :). Might want to chop most of the forests next? Lakamha probably shouldn't be whipped... would need to chop monument now though to get border pop in time.

Axeman + 2 settlers next in Mutal?
If anything, Lakamha might whip worker 4 -> 2? Overflow hammers to finish Granary maybe. Will need lots of workers for jungle clearing.

What do you think about settling here once IW is in?

Spoiler :

Has a forest for granary chop + gives good river tiles for fish city (which we settle next?)

Hmm i would consider that east fish city can cover some of those green rivers, and look into one more step east probably.
Overall such cities are very nice, forest helps getting granary quickly.

What's the golden rule again? #workers = #cities +1? Building two settlers now seems ambitious in terms of the number of workers, and the vast jungle.

edit: Scouting was useful, stone+pig looks reasonable later, but not so useful now while we need commerce.

Hmm those cottages lol, loses 2c for 10t but ofc we will want them for later when we can grow much more with Monarchy.
I think we might as well set 2 up now, and use them while building (and chopping) settlers and workers.

Pesky barb archer went for Lakamha and axe had to defend it.

Spoiler :

Only 1% chance or so, but could have lost the city. Hm, a bit awkward. Had a game recently where one barb archer took out my 2x dog soldiers and razed my city, gg :D ... was 3% and 1% I think.

More luck here.

Building 2x grassland cottages for the capital, so we can stop working coast next turn. Pure chopping after that. Monument, Settlers etc... border pop for gems will still come in time. Probably 13 more turns for IW and then there is still jungle cutting for 4T, so np.

Oh and... woodi warrior took out the barb warrior to reach 4/5 experience. And then there was this opportunity...

Spoiler :

Don't know, was about 75% for success. Losing would be sad, but ultimately no big deal. But...

Wee, success.

Biggest questions for me... 2x Settlers in Mutal next? And... whip worker in Lakamha for 2 pop or no? A bit painful without Granary maybe, hm.

I thought you wanted gems ASAP?... With two workers chopping jungle gem mine could be started in ~14 turns (I think IW is ~12turns and two turns to chop jungle). Worker overflow is cute, but Lakamha won't grow to size 4 in time (6 turns to grow, 1 to put in worker, 1 to whip, 1 overflow monument, 10 to culture up).

Could chop that lonely forest I guess (if you cancel cottage worker, it might be about in time), and move third citizen to the coast the next turn. (I would probably just whip monument either now or in few turns, OF to worker and finish it at size two).

2 settlers in the jungle with ~3 workers seems... very slow, but I don't much about jungle iso:).

Woodi II

Think i like having 2 settlers ready with IW, and 3 workers total should do.
We can mix a bit, settler until 1 turn from completed..then switching to worker before bringing one of them out (if it's staying at 6 free units).

Mutal will have no worker turns needed left, east fish city we can prepare a cottage in time too (1s of pigs or on forest), so main work will be just on gems and river jungle city.

If Mutal can manage 2 settlers + worker, Lakamha could keep it's pop for library whip.
