The Military Machines Image Thread

yes it most certinally is, first time ive heard of Brazil making a tank

Reach out, reach out and touch someone. Reach out, reach out and just say hi.

Welcome to the future of anti-tank weaponry. The LOSAT, going 5000 feet/second will blow apart any tank in the world today and probably for at least 50 years into the future.

You won't need to reload this AK

Here, courtesy of the Evil Archives, is a ship never actually built on this version of Earth. However, we have ways...

What ship is that supposed to be?

Anyways.. that AK would jam in seconds and it would be a pain to try and fire. No accuracy at all.

One of the few russian rifles I like. But the range is a bit short for its purpose. Supposedly hard to hit its target out past 800m.

and a Canadian one for some fun. I have a cousin who is in the Canadian sniper program.

my personal favorite,

Barrett M821A
A canadian actuallt holds the combat record for a kill with that rifle. 2300M? i think. Ive persoanlly hit a truck @ 1800M.

AKs dont jam easily......hell actualy most of your american assault weapons jam like crazy in dust and dirt. It's pretty fun when your gun jams in Americas Army (the game)

heres a tank u dont see very often, can anyone guess it?
Osorio-MBT.jpg

Is that the british tank with the chabem(SP) armor. the name escaps me at the moment.

Heres my rifle (not the actual one in photo)...

m623vq.jpg

The M6 Scout from Springfield Armory. A .22/.410 over under. In less than ten seconds I can remove stock from barrel and stow it within my pack. I can retreive it, assemble it, load it and be ready to fire in under 30 seconds. No kidding. I love this little rifle and it is a killer. I've got the .22 Hornet so it packs a little extra punch. Within the stock is stowage for four 410 shells and twelve .22's. This weapon was designed as a survival rifle for U.S. pilots. For me it is the ideal backcountry rifle. It's light and compact (less than 19" long when stowed). And it's quick from pack to shoulder providing ample time to take oppurtunity of unexpected prey ranging from rabbit to deer and even fowl.

wow i used to have a 22/410 over under. Amazing lil gun.
And the tank was already guessed. Its Brazillian. And the reason that THAT Ak would jam has to do with the way the magazine is. The length of it, and its curvature will not nessecate a proper firing speed. And theres NO way u can compare guns jamming in real life and in a video game. Ive fired tons of guns and ive never ever ever had one jam on me. No doubt the AK is a seriously tough rifle but that clip is its serious downfall. Like shooting from the hip, looks cool, but ya cant hit squat.

I was not comparing RL to videogames, thats just plain ******** to do so.I was just saying that some US weapons jam too easily in dirt and dust.

You have point for the ak(with the long clip, the normal one is pretty good in any combat condition),but what about vietnam. All those people getting gun jams were having dellusions,no?

i thought they were gonna mount this on the bradly chassis? how many reloads for it can they fit in the little humvee? not many, i dont think..

once i saw a picture of the ADATS on the bradley and it looked great.

ill try to find it.

whatever, the longer the clip the higher % of a jam or failure. And how many ppl actually used that clip? i have studied nam pretty heavily and I havent seen all that many. Looks like hollywood to me. Ok...now post some pics.

Search for my article about "AK-47 vs M-16" which explains the why M-16s during the Vietnam war jammed so much why they are much more reliable today.

Other than the M-16 what US designed assault rifle has a reputation of unreliability? US small arms in the 20th century generally have an excellent reputation.

So does AK-47, those models made in USSR or Russia of course. This debate is really a question of what side of the fence you were before..... all men are proud of their military.

Don't know anything about it being mounted on a Bradley. The only footage I've ever seen has always been on an HMMWV. Maybe the thinking is one HMMWV for the weapon and one to pack around the extra ammo is still cheaper than a Bradley.

I never said Soviet and Russian weapons were not good. They are quite potent. I was just responding to Cleric's assertion that US small arms have a bad reputation. Which is a myth stemming from badly manufactured M-16s during the Vietnam War.

Yeah that took place. Both "philosophies" in making automatic arms have their strenghts and weaknesses.
