Hm....Psmith. I guess I can see that. Were you expelled from Eton? Do you have a monocle?

On a scale of 0 to 10 how much of a dandy are you?

I think yer dandy. Even though you did call me a scatterbrained and anachronistic historical reference. :p

I got stuck on a part of Half-Life going in circles and decided to check out a video walkthrough of the area and the first one that came up had commentary. The guy mentioned that a certain corner was really good for camping. Why on earth would you go camping during an alien invasion with the military trying to kill you.

Did I? I don't remember that at all. (Though that says nothing.)

Are you sure it was me, and not someone else?

I certainly don't think that now.

Never in my life did I imagine I would see those words written by Borachio.

You serious? Dudes punched more cones than I've had hot dinners.

Now, my question. What the hell is that Civ wiki I came across in another thread? I think I know what a wiki is, it's the format that wikipedia etc follow (in lay mans terms anyway)

Frankly I don't like it. Fifty chat, now Civ wiki.....I'm not into it and if stuffs going down amongst you people I wanna be able to find it here, not be kept in the dark.

Well, unless you are talking about video games, I think.

This is a function of being more regulation happy, but not necessarily of being more right-wing conservative in the sense that is probably meant by PE. A similar point might be made about Australia having very few constitutional protections, and state governments with the capacity for almost dictatorial power, but that's not the same as having a tea party or ridiculously large bible belt.

The proper OT wiki is the Sidhe wiki (or at least, that's how I think most people would refer to it).

What does this offer me over and above what I have here (genuine question)?. I find the juggernaut that is the internet quite daunting and I'm happy in my little rut of CFC, BBC, words with friends, YouTube, facebook, surf report, and a selection of 112 selected porno and sporting sites.

What's in it for me?

EDIT.....oooh forget the above. It's awesome. Gonna ditch a porn site for this.

#fiftychat is a live action place where CFC folk can interact in real time. That civ wiki thing is an abomination that needs to be destroyed by hellfire. Come visit us in the chat anytime! Link is right in my sig and the cigs of many of its denizens.

I dunno, regulation happy in something that is almost certainly a social construct rather than just letting people consume the media they want-- that's been construed very much as a right wing thing here from what I can tell. In fact it's one of the less appealing parts of having that bible belt you point out. Though tbh, they don't usually get too worked up over games here anymore unless somebody can sensationalize a story to people who know nothing about games and convince them that their sons are secretly training how to be sex offenders a la Rapelay or whatever.

Did I read the page on Cato the Elder wrong? ;)

Did nobody see my question?

Gotta sleep sometime? I thought the whole idea was once the entire world screws up the smartest thing was to call up VR and see if he'll let you tag along into the woods and enjoy what peace and quiet, roasted squirrel, and good company you can get while the getting is good.

Actually rugbyLEAGUEfan, the CFC wiki that was recently discussed is not the one Cami is talking about. There is another one that is much more recent, to find it, google CivFanatics Wiki and it's like the fourth or fifth link. I'd link to it, but I think the posts that all refer to it have been deleted...I'm not sure if they were deleted or if I'm just not finding them. Either way, I won't link to it to play it safe.

It's kind of funny I guess, not much on it.

Wrong kind of camping.

Camping in this context means waiting in a specific position that is difficult either for enemies to get to or notice you quickly enough, but comparatively very easy for you the player to get kills. I don't know why you'd camp in a single player game though. It's primarily a multiplayer/deathmatch tactic.

Ah. That makes sense. Ive done it before when dealing with many, many headcrabs. Just sit in a corner and keep hitting them with the crowbar until they stop coming.
