Yeah, Origin is way worse than Steam and almost as bad as Uplay - the abomination Ubisoft discovered in the depths of Hell's sewage treatment plant.

I have rarely had problems with Origin after disabling the in-game overlay

I also rarely have problems with Steam, but dislike that the advertising and spending traps are so much more aggressive there

Origin is much less bad than it used to be. Not that that's really saying much, but it doesn't seem to actively cause problems and it's got a decent set of features compared to most of its competetors. Still well short of Steam of course.

I seem to have lost a word.

Isn't there a word for sports cars and the like that captures that they are high-maintenance because they are high-performance? They need lots of fine-tuning to keep them operating at their peak, but the owners bother with doing that fine tuning because the peak performance is worth it.

It's not finicky, but like finicky, I think the word in question can be applied to people as well as machines, i.e. that when you call a car this word, you're personifying the car.

Maybe "fussy" is all it is.

I can't think of a specific word you're after but maybe a borrowed phrase could apply - high speed, high drag.

Do people prefer lots of smaller gifts or one large gift?
If the gift or gifts are a good fit with the receiver, it won't matter.

I agree with Synsensa.

What are you going to get us?
I legitimately have something planned as a gift for CFC but it depends on a particular rocket launching in the future. It's beginning to look uncertain that this particular rocket will ever launch so I am unsure I'll get to give my gift. That I'm even mentioning it is a sign that I don't think it is going to happen. I've been working on this surprise for a while...

But that's just a coincidence. I was curious how other people felt about gifts because my birthday is coming up so it got me thinking of what I want.

One of his mission patches, I'm guessing.

the gift is something way more unique.
Your rocket will somehow spell out "CFCOT" in space, in its vapor trail, or something.

Both.

The best gift is something that someone wants, shows something of the giver and the receiver would have difficulty getting otherwise.
But receiving something that you want is the main thing.
