To be honest I don't recognize it anymore. A new generation has gained control I guess.
My own style of posting is of the (borderline acceptable ToS) variety. I've had numerous convos and warnings with mods and have pulled through. I like to yank chains, but do so as respectfully as possible.
I'd like to see more of the original posters here. Perf, fifty, lucy, dt, etc. Maybe they had kids like me and moved on.
I'd like to see less of people like yourself honestly. 2-3 year old profiles with dang near 20k posts just screams "look at me". Those kind of numbers just scream attention needed. Some sort of void in your personal life you feel justified posting 15 things a day...dunno. might as well set up a blog at that point if you think people worship your opinion that much.

I'll accept that. I only know what I know. I was mainly trying to get across a 2012 profile with 17k posts is absolutely insane.
As far as "original" posters I guess I should have said "those I grew up with".

I miss a lot of them, too, but I wouldn't. It was more novel, and thus more exciting, and we had some good personalities, but I was reading old threads a few months ago and I noticed: post quality was terrible. You were one of the few posters actually writing anything worth reading by today's higher standards. And even still, you posted only like 400 posts in your first 4 years at CFC.
Xen and Stormbind did it back in your day, though. In fact, most of the posters with over 20k did most of that "k" in the span of a couple fiery years. I think Borachio is doing just fine, and I don't think it comes from any narcissistic assumptions. It comes from active participation. I do worry that our high post counts scare away some of the newbies, though.
Once upon a time I reached #30 in postcount. I've clawed my way back up to like 86 after dropping off.

We all post on forums like this, speaking to disembodied people we'll likely never meet due to some void in our lives (whether social, emotional, whatever). Trying to act like you're better than someone because he has a slightly higher postcount is pretty weak.
