What are some things that you think every man should know how to do? Please post some reasoning, rather than just making a long list.

My suggestions:
1) Tying a tie (because every man needs to look nice at some point)
2) How to properly cook a steak (steak is manly, man cannot live off of microwave alone)
3) change a tire
4) bait a hook
5) properly throw a football

1) I have a clip-on tie. Always use that so that save me the labor of learning to know how.
2) Anyone can cook. It take an idiot to not know how to cook. Has nothing to do with what food it is, and how it define you as a man or a woman if it is something like a manly steak or making a feminine meal -whatever that is.
3) My brother once called AAA to come to his whereabout and change his tire for him. He used his manly money.
4) What is up with Ohio and fishing? If you don't fish, you are not manly? I call it boring unless you do some ninja-fishing
5) Ok. If a dude can't throw a football properly ... then expect him to know how to do your hair.
