What Video Games have you been playing II: Have you finished that backlog?

I tried getting that mod working, but it was too unstable for me and felt too 'moddy' with how they structured the campaign map and heavy use of very temperamental scripts.

Dunno what you mean by the moddy feeling and the map, but it's unstable as hell. My campaign's basically on hold because of either CTDs or a disappearing cursor.

Almost finished Act 3 of Watchdogs....but now I'm totally stuck. Not sure I"ll actually beat the game, since the story blows. Overall, a disappointment.

What is wrong with the game? It seemed like an open world version of Deus Ex: HR and a game I would definitely get in a few years (once I have a computer capable of running it).

1) The story is awful. There is no compelling motivation to progress. The topic itself is SUPER interesting, but all of the characters are cardboard tropes.

2) The driving physics are a joke, making the numerous driving missions needlessly difficult and frustrating. The game is one giant car crash.

3) It's way too hard, especially in the beginning, where the Chicago police swarm you more than they swarmed the Blues Brothers.

Parts of it are pretty fun, but I don't think it makes up for the frustration

That persisted until games started using the up/down axis better. You should see what controlling with the mouse was like!

Started a Dutch campaign in 1648. Managed to make peace with Austria, which was nice considering that they spawned three full stacks of quality troops that started passing through my land. I just seized Antwerpen from the Spanish by landing an army by river transport. Marching overland, I always had to turn my army back before besieging a place because I had a hard time supplying it.

Also, I just started Mass Effect.

Won a decisive series of victories as the Union of Utrecht in 1648. After I took Antwerpen, the Spanish evacuated all their forts in Brabant, so I was able to snatch them up. Austria renewed the war with me, but since they're far away and busy with the Turks, they didn't do anything about it. I was able to capture two of their Brabantine forts, and learned the hard way that their towers have muskets and their gatehouses have boiling oil. After upgrading my pikemen a bit, I then packed a powerful army of musketeers and pikemen onto ships, sailed to rebel-held Nijmegen, landed the army, and besieged the city. It was a star fort with indestructible walls and cannon towers, plus a full stack of troops. Not easy to take, so I infiltrated it with a spy.

Luckily, the spy was able to open the gates from the inside. During the battle, I cut down a quarter of the defenders on the ramparts with prolonged and heavy musketry, then stormed the gates with hundreds of pikemen. Long story short, it was a massacre that ended with concentrated musketry on their packed pikemen and militia in the square followed by a push of pikes. Though I started with 940 men against their 1,381, I took Nijmegen with 214 deaths and wiped out their entire garrison.
