So #nes played a quick (4 hours) game of Diplomacy last night - the popular 1900 variant. It's getting a lot of love from #nes so it'll probably be my go-to variant for future Diplomacy threads.
Anyway, it was called in Spring 1903 for Dachs and Thlayli when people were too tired to continue. Here were the results.
We started with the following players:
madviking as the UK.
Kraznaya as France.
Dachs as Germany.
qoou as Italy.
Terrance as Russia.
Thlayli as Austria.
<nuke> as Turkey.
Nuke bailed on Turkey at this point, but luckily OwenGlyndwr was ready and willing (hahaha) to pick it up in his wake.
Then Terrance bailed on Russia. We recruited Matt, who hadn't really played Diplomacy in a long time, to replace him.
Then Matt, who was tired and not having fun being smashed anyway, takes his leave of Russia.
Nuke comes back from a wild night on the town to find a bunch of nerds still playing Diplomacy in an internet chat room. Despite not wanting to play as the Russians for some reason, we force him into it using the magic of Peer Pressure. So we once again have a Russia player.
Acknowledging that Dachs and Thlayli, combined, have over 18 supply, and realizing we had just spent 4 hours playing play-by-chatroom Diplomacy, we decide to call it a night.
Winners: Dachs (Germany) and Thlayli (Austria)
