I often find they do matter to me. Having a specific heritage has helped me, and everyone else, in becoming the person they are today. We all have cultural/heritage uniqueness to be proud of.

Because it has made me who I am today, I wouldn't be who I am today if it weren't for my ancestors and my heritage. I am proud to be who I am and have something distinct about myself, as everyone should be.

No, the unsaid suggestion is that everyone else should be proud of being able to continue the legacy of their own ancestors. There is no implication of anyone needing to be ashamed of anything. You are adding that in yourself.

By all means, sue the nutjobs. However, what makes white pride worse than black pride, gay pride, asian pride, hispanic pride, or [insert group here] pride? Yes, I do think the nutjobs should be stopped. But why should it be evil for white people to feel pride and appreciation for their culture and history? I sometimes get the feeling that things have gone beyond just stopping the crazies, and have become taking advantage of white "guilt". That will not improve the situation, and will only be the root of future troubles. Like I said, there has to be some middle ground between self hatred and burning crosses. Too far in either direction is just begging for trouble.

Yes, there is something wrong with white pride. There's also problems with black pride and Asian pride and gay pride and female pride and Christian pride and Jewish pride and just pride generally. It's a Deadly Sin for a reason

Actually there are some things that you can be proud of, because pride can come from a sense of achievement. There is nothing wrong with this sort of pride. The pride that we need to stay clear of is the pride that says that you are better than anyone else.

What about pride for the individual who does not want to associate oneself as being categorized as one singular race of colour?!There is more to be an individual than just having certain pigmentation of skin tone or some gender.
