Simple question, inspired partially by the vegetarianism thread, and partially by the pets thread.
I personally do not eat dogs and cats because I see them as 'pets' more than 'animals'.
But what it is about them that makes it seem much less acceptable to eat them to you (assuming you find it much less acceptable to eat them...)? Is it more right to eat a cow or pig than a dog or cat because we feel more of an attachment to the latter pair?
To extend this further, would you have an aversion to eating dolphin, for example, and why?
