Read upon the history of the Mormons. They were created by a fraud, a "prophet" who lived in the 1800s. Their stories are not Christianity but a bunch of random ramblings that are very similar to what Scientology preaches, and is very much an excuse for polygamy and abuse of women.Warman17 said:since when do mormons conduct a pyramid sceme and attack all who disagree with it?
oh and I would vote for anyone as long as they're not a scientologist or other cult.

MattBrown said:Sorry for the threadjack. I find it unsual that some of our conservative posters would reject a qualified individual (who, most likely, would be quite conservative), because of something stupid like this. Speaks volumes I think.

I'm not trying to impress anyone here, I'm just stating my opinion. And to those telling me to read up on Mormon history should follow their own advice and realize what I'm saying is true. With your logic, Scientology will soon be accepted as much as Mormonism is today.

Exactly what I was saying.Methos said:I may disagree with Mormonism, but I have several friends who are Mormons and the one thing I respect the most about them is their family values. I suggest you learn more about their beliefs before disrespecting them that way. I believe the[y are] a borderline cult, but I admire their morals. As a matter of fact, my wife and I are going to a pancake breakfast tomorrow with Mormon friends of ours at their Church.
I fail to see what makes Joseph Smith less of a prophet than any other ones. A true prophet should be as valid no matter the time period. Polygamy I see nothing wrong with as long as the women are treated equally. I don't equate polygamy with abuse of women, and I don't think that Mormons are inherently given to abuse their women, so I disagree with that statement as well. They were created by a fraud, a "prophet" who lived in the 1800s.
