That's an interesting solution to Syria+Iraq.

I am not sure if that would be even viable. Apart from Baghdad (which is in the very border there...) does that linked pale green region actually contain anything to base an economy on? Iirc the oil fields in Iraq are in the north and the persian gulf, neither of which are in the proposed new SyriAq in that map.
 
I don't think the Shiite population in Iraq extends that far north, plus Sunnistan doesn't consider the Assyrian minority whom at the moment seem to have some sort of autonomy within Iraq. The link addressed making Jabal-al-Druze and Baghdad citystates. Same could apply for Assyria I suppose.

Also obviously, the Kurds in Turkey and Iran are a massive white elephant in the room.

Re Winner's map: Hm, only the Pals part (for Serbia) is close to any sterotypical idea of reality in that map. The rest is pretty much dumb/random and not even based on stereotype (quite a distinction there :) ).

I know these maps suck.

But when I saw this one I immediately thought "Kyriakos!" :lol:
